Engine twice and then more minor issues..this is what triggered this. But thankfully you are buying a new bike this feb, make sure if its TVS then please double check the bike which you take.

Nah engine was changed only once......it was the tappets which was hampering the performance. everything was ok once they were set right!

Now the bike is perfect without any problems. Only thing tht needs to be done now is to change the rear tube and shift to synthetic oil! am still using mineral oil

I dont think i'll be taking a TVS bike probably a Yammie or Honda!

Question Many questions abt Rtr Bike /engine probs

I have Black Studds Ninja helmet , i wanna get its glass tinted ,how to do it ,it is legal right?

I have apache Rtr refresh done 1700kms
Also my bike dies down in morning or after riding it after 1-2 days ,it starts normally but after 5-15 secs it engine stops. So i give it some race to stop it ,even after riding for 100-200 mtrs when i stop at signal n stuff it sometimes stops .But after riding few kms it doesnt stop n runs ok

also when fuel is low n only 1 indicator is left on Lcd panel it starts stopping when i brake or let go of throttle for some time ,shouldnt bike perform great till the fuel reverve indicator glows , many times i have to go in reserve even before indicator glows .

In reserve i feel bike performs differently n engine seems stressed why so ?

also what rpms /spped to change ear for max mileage im only getting 44-49(dont know how to calculate it as bike dies a lot when i have very less fuel so cant do that Only reserve left than put 1 litre n ride n see again when reserve comes up)

If it gets loosened up again then there might be some problem with the balls(for some filthy minds - i meant the iron balls) might have got damaged. If its so then he'll repair it during the service!

P.s - Kiran commercials SVC is starting night shift(till 11pm) to service bikes

And KP list of things that were changed in last service!

1. Speedo assembly....Odo reads 0 kms again
2. Side stand
3. Disc pads
4. Rear shocker(have no idea why the changed it)
5. New rear tyre(which was changed again 2 weeks back)
6. Drum rubbers
7. Rear brake shoes
8. Engine oil and filter.

and lots more things in the engine which they did'nt reavel.

Out of the list i was only charged for the Brake shoes and disc pads

I had a real bad experience with Motul 3000 4T in my RTR!
So how are your balls now ?
Do they hurt, er i mean make noise :P

Rear tyres and everything changed for free.... thats news! how old is your bike?

1) RTR is a bike which is NOT designed for giving you more mileage so... tough luck on this one, but yes you can reach an optimum mileage point which wont be great anyways... let me look out for the gear ratios, maybe they will help

2) The problem of startup and speed that you suggests seems to be a cold start and stalling due to the fuel flow.... do you get the same problem when you have more than 5 ltrs of fuel?
at worse it could mean some compromised fuel quality being used!!!
What is your idle RPM set at?

3) The LCD issue is something that you would want to talk to your service center about! also tell them about your bike performance issues, I am sure they will help

EDIT: For the Tint thing I am not sure if its something that can be safely done to an existing visor locally.... Go to your nearest helmet shop and ask for a tinted visor for your helmet.... I got no clue on the legality bit, but Currently even I myself use it!

The start problem usually happens when i have less fuel left
n my Rpm nedle kinda shakes a bit(2 small bars) ,is it supposed to stay at 1 place

Hi Puneet check your fuel flow to the bike.... do you have bends in that rubber pipe which might be choking it.... anyways at low fuel it is not really a concern unless its happening on an adhoc basis!
The RPM (i think) should be set at 1.2 If i am not wrong....

Check the fuel pipe as SP said. That could be the only problem! else u might be running of a mixture of petrol and kerosene sold by one of the best petrol bunks in your city

joel, killer, venu and ALL!

I have completed about one year with my RTR, with about 11000KMS of all styles of riding.
I usually ride fast on low gears which is probably why some RTR owners find my bike smoother in thier style of riding

The main question that I wanted to ask is, I intend to do some performance mods on the RTR.
I was told by a freind to not to K&N it & just a simple upjetting would give me a small bump.... is that right?

Any other mods that you could suggest for my RTR?

Many Thanks...
