payeng, if u remember, i had an issue with the NGK Irridium Spark plugs. It wasn't sparking properly even with the proper specs being put in the correct sides.

Found out later that the issue was the ECU. The ECU had gone kaput the same time i was changing the plugs. Therefore, lot of misfire, non-idle, engine-off probs during that time.

At 600 Kms the bike should be almost as good as new..

This is what I would suggest:
  • Get a comprehensive test ride of the bike
  • Check for smoothness of pick up (the P220 picks up quite smoothly from speeds of 35-40 kmph in top gear)
  • Since it is 600 kms run, the bike is ideally in the running in period, therefore do not rip the bike
  • Check for chassis balance- The bike should ideally remain in a straight line and shouldn't veer towards right/left
  • Check the Front/Rear Suspension for rebound/damping
  • Look out for any funny noise

Ok so its not the NGK's..

By the way, how satisfied are you with the after sales service that you have been getting? Also I hope the replacement is being covered under warranty.

Thanks dude...i did have a test ride..and dint feel tat anything was out of place..what is positive is that the guy is a middle aged doc so chances of him abusing the vehicle looks very minimal..any comments on the cost??..considering tat the new pul 220 is about 94k OR in bangalore

94,000 - 78,000= a saving of 16,000K ..!!
Looks to be a very good deal (provided the bike is really in good shape)..

Don't forget to spend the 16K saved in a good branded Helmet, Riding Jacket and a pair of Leather gloves..!!

am pretty satisfied with the after sales service. Khivraj sevicemen are well versed with the problems that P220 might get. And yes Payeng, everything is being covered uinder warranty. Even the breakdown service.
