Wanted to check if anyone in knows any garage or mechanic in Pune that has the Delphi ECU diagnostic tool.
Let me give a bit of background. I had booked my 220-Fi way back in Feb-2007 and my bike got delivered from the first batch in April-2007 (Pune). I have lots of fond memories with the bike like checking with my to-be wife whether I should spend ~90K (a lot in those days); eventually buying it. Going off on trips just after getting married to all the beaches of Maharashtra starting from Alibaug, Murud, Harihareshwar, etc etc.. all the way down south to Ganpatiphule, Malvan, Vengurla and then in Goa till Colva and also Karwar in multiple trips over a span of 2-3 years.
Then we had our baby, bike was retired and an i20 took its place in 2010. Till that time the bike had done ~42K Kms in 3 yrs
.. Over the years i20 gave way to a VW Jetta in 2015 (lovely car; done 90K kms all over India; but thats a different story) and bike was seldom used. Still it was working till around 2018 when I just left it at my old house in Aundh and moved to a new place in NIBM. And then Covid hit and over a period of 4.5 yrs of gathering dust, the bike was as good as scrapped.A week back I don't know what got into me, I just got it washed by my car cleaner, got 2L of petrol and filled it. I had a 12V lithium battery pack (of one of my RC toy car) and I connected that (the old battery was obviously not even worthy of trying a charge), pushed the button and whoooaa.. the fuel pump came to life. And within 10 sec there was petrol all over the place
.. basically the rubber running from the fuel pump to the filter had all gone brittle and burst due to the pressure. Not to loose heart, I got a couple of spare pipes (and 200 NS fuel filter) and just did a quick replacement; primed it again and all good, pressed the starter button and my God the bike just came to life in one go... Maybe I am lucky but man this machine is good. really good..
I rode around and it seem to work great. So got it serviced, (there were no brakes as the DOT4 fluid had become gel).
After spending just a few Ks (2.5 to be precise), everything is in perfect working condition, all electrical, gear shift even engine power and that crisp throttle response. I was confident enough riding it and could easily do 90-100km/h.
BUT
I see the tuning has gone a bit off and there is some error in the ECU (check engine light comes ON after 3-4 mins and stays on). The bike still runs great, albeit it feels hotter than what I was remember being accustomed to. I took it to all the known Bajaj service centres to me in Pune (Sai Kothrud, Ishnya Shivajinagar etc). No one seem to have the diagnostic tool for this 2007 model and therefore no one can tell why the engine light is ON.
I got so excited (call it nostalgia) that I even applied for registration extension (15 yrs expiring on 17-April-2022), paid green tax etc.. It will be great if someone can just adjust the CO (make it a bit rich) so it doesn't overheat and also not stall (sometimes) when I close the throttle while rolling.
Any help or pointer to where I can take it in Pune will be of immense help
