Ahhh. After so many years, a truly Fi question.
Let me do some research. I’ll get back to you.

220 FI was gold. People didn’t knew how this system works.

Did anyone figure out if the 220 can be fitted with a kick?

          Hello everyone,

I am planning a tyre swap and wanted to know if P220 Fi forks can accommodate AS200 Front tyres?

          Std size - 90/90-17
          AS 200 Size - 100/80-17

I want to fix Michelin Pilot Sporty 100/80-17 for the best grip at front.

If anyone has undertaken this tyre swap previously or knows about it and can guide, please help out.

You can, but do note that the P220's do not come with a decompressor.

            Thumb rule!

If its Michelin and its cheap and don't get it. The Pilot Sporty in particular has a reputation for being dangerously slippery when wet.

A decent Michelin such as the Pilot Street Radial will set you back by 4~5k per tire.

Ok. Point noted. But can the said tyre size fit in standard rim without any problem?

Michelin Pilot Sporty is available in stock size so they'll fit fine, though you run the risk of wrecking while riding in the rain.

As for Michelin Pilot Street Radial then you would need to up-size a bit, wont be an issue if safety is your concern.

Hello everyone, this is my first post here.
I'm planning to get an used pulsar 220f 2008 model.
I know that it was originally a fuel injected version but the seller has converted it into carburetor.
Is it possible to convert it back into fi and what are the estimates for doing so?
                  Thanks for your efforts!

the FI on p220 is very problematic , the filter & motor r inside the tank so gets eroded soon than any other FI unit . my advice will be to stay away from FI for p220

So you advice to keep the bike as it is?
Also the owner doesn't exactly know about carb conversion.

The bike was used for 28k km by the owner.
No signs of visible rusts except the clamps.
I also wanted to let you all know that the bike had higher idling around 2k, the rpm needle has it's mind of it's own and there was no pickup even in first gear. Felt like bike is struggling.
Could this be a cluth plate issue?
The gear indicator showed neutral even while in gear and there was the high temp oil light always on even when it was cold
I'm planning to get this bike as I'm getting a good deal but what type of work would it need?
And a near estimate of money to be spent on the bike would be great.
                        Thanks!

Ruined p220 is really hard to get to original shape or condition . unless u change the whole engine . Till date the engine has received many upgrades the components r changed overall . e.g. the rocker arms & camshaft has 4 versions & the parts r not interchangeable . The one way clutch is also different , cdi etc

if its in good working condition , good engine then only buy it ,else invest in other bike . Except engine everything can be fitted from new p220's . So make your choice accordingly

The bike is very less used but i think the issues that it's having is because the bike was sitting idle for months.
How can i make out if the engine is in good condition?
Well it does have problems but the seller says everything would be fine after servicing.
Please guide me as I don't want to buy the bike and spend a fortune repairing it!
