I took a hacksaw and chopped off the fairing and fairing frame from my bike. So now it looks bloody ugly. But it works fantastic because the bike isn't front heavy anymore and it is substantially lighter. Not the best for the highways, but wonderful for city commutes and mild off-roading!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Having moved to Bangalore 2.5 years back, I had left my T20 (named after India's win in the T20 WC a day before) with my bro-in-law who neglected it big time to say the least. Rust, battery down, cranking on no fuel leading to a fuel pump failure, missing mirror - anything that could go wrong - did.
Finally, I booked a flight to Delhi last thursday night and rode my T20 down to bangalore over the next 2.5 days.
The mirror solution worked well. Better than the original mirrors - aesthetics be damned.
The bike worked better - a 10 year old warhorse saw off the ride with minimal fuss.
Did 10hrs on first day (GGN-Neemuch) and then 15 hrs (Neemuch - Pune) and 12 hrs (Pune to Bangalore) for the overall 2.4k km ride.

Now - the restoration begins. Any good SVC in BLR for this ?

      The mirror solution

Hi.. I am new to this ownership forum. I guess i should have joined a lot sooner.. I have a 220 dtsfi circa 2007; one of the very first ones in hyderabad. Bad news is that its dying on me and i mean to revive it to its former glory. i have a peculiar problem. The bike dies on me after riding for about 2km. Even with repeated selfs it won't start again. Ill have to leave it for a good few hours before i attempt to start again and it will promptly start and then stop again after a couple Kms. At first i thought its a battery/charging issue and got the RR checked out. Then had the starter motor cleaned too. But the problem persists. I have eliminated the following problem areas: Battery (bought a brand new one), starter motor. Has anyone faced this issue and hence changed the fuel pump? Its like the engine cuts off after riding for a bit. ( Could be a thermal heat sensor issue?) Any thoughts on what the problem could be?
*Waiting in anticipation for the solution*
        Thanks

Do you know, there are somethings in our country called "Bajaj Authorized service centers"?

Take it there and get that beauty fixed. The FI might need some cleaning and changes to fuel and air filters and spark plugs cleaning needed. Engine oil needs change as its too old, if you haven't changed it. You are asking too much from your bike in its current position. give it something so it could give you something back.

In how many days do you refill air in tyres. My 220 goes to 0psi in 15 days. Couldn't find any nail stuck to the tyres.

How old is your tire? Old tire with minute cracks and age/wear induced cracks can cause the tire to leak air, and air does find a way out no matter what, and this is aggravated on a old tire. Also check your valve cap, check if it leaks air.

                  Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                  THE END

                        Welcome to Bangalore !!

Good to see an old 220 Fi being put to good use.

If you have the time, patience and more importantly moolah to spend on this old fella, I will recommend that you first get it done up at BAL SVC center and I strongly recommend AutoService in Banashankari. I don't know what issue you have with the bike presently (and I assume not much because you managed to ride down all the way), but focus on getting the Fuelling System, electricals and electronics sorted there first as nobody else in BLR will touch them. For the mechanicals, if there are big/expensive components to be replaced then get it done at AutoService itself. For regular service, depending on which part of town you live it would be best to find a local mech who can be trusted.

Let me know if you are heading to AutoService, ask for Babu he's the guy who runs things there, give him my reference. I will be heading there myself next weekend to dop my bike off.

My car rear tire just holds pressure as is. But when driven on potholes, it goes to 0 PSI. Same as your case.
Reason is air leaking from rim and tyre contact area. When more load goes on this tire at a certain angle, air starts leaking.

I had to open this tire 4 times, to find the culprit.

If your tire is perfect, then the culprit is in Valve or Rim. Get them thoroughly checked and replace the damaged parts. don't go for any kind of repair. It doesn't work and there's a high probability that you would end up stranding on road again.

                          Also, forgot to mention.
If you have used any plugs on existing punctures in past, they could be culprit too. They dont leak regularly. but only when more pressure is put on them, they leak air.

Brake oil turned gooey. Rear brake oil still good and full.

                            Air filter dead.

Install right side mirror. Cost ₹30 for yoke.
Left one broke while fitting. Cost ₹55.

Installed new fuel pump and filter. What should I do with the brake? Should I just clean the oil container or drain all oil and replace?

I need your assistance in modification of pulsar 220.

                              I have new bs4 model.

I m thinking to put K&N air filter BA-2201 and thinking to change spark plug to NKG LKAR8AI9 Iridium Spark Plug.

Please suggest regarding this if it's good or not.
Or what else I can use to improve bike performance.

                              Thanks in advance.

Air filter is not going to make much of a difference in fact more airflow means more dust may get into your engine , if you want performance my advice is get a bigger bike,
