its also causing tiny vibrations on to lefthand side footrest... feels as if the chain is rubbing against something.... hence the sound & vibes.. its very tight as i can tell you.Originally posted by Aryan View Post@jigar: As far as I know, too much slackness is bad no doubt, but too much tightening is also bad! It should be just right..Glad that xBHP is back... and glad to be back on xBHP!!! :D

well in my case it doesnt rev tat easily on lower gears but on higher gears it does but here also thers a range of 6 to 6.3 whr the engine gets harsh but after tat all smooth.Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostThe motul 300v has worked wonders! The change is noticeable only when u rip her hard! Now my bike redlines so easily on 2nd and 3rd gear! Also balancer shaft overloading has smoothed her a lot!
Donno y ?
@Jigar : bro, u need to do such changes in PBK SC only, slightest here n thr in chain adjustments and whole lota vibrations for sure, but dont worry its not a big deal just get it rectified at SC.Aprilia RS 125 or Honda CB400 Vtec ..... which one will it be ??? I think its gonna be NINJA ZX 6R :-)

I experienced this after the first service!Originally posted by jigar View Postits also causing tiny vibrations on to lefthand side footrest... feels as if the chain is rubbing against something.... hence the sound & vibes.. its very tight as i can tell you.
I had even posted a pic.
Now do one thing, lubricate the chain with SAE 90 rated oil.And make sure the chain is smeared in oil. I don't use any spray. And if that doesn't work tell me. I will post another method that i came up with.

Could you please suggest any 90-grade oil for the drive chain? I am contemplating on getting one, but not sure which one to get..Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostI experienced this after the first service!

Any particular SAE 90 grade oil brand or something that you use/ or would recommend for the chain?

Do not whack open the throttle before 3k rpm. After you cross 4k you can whip her to the red line!Originally posted by chilled_fire View Postwell in my case it doesnt rev tat easily on lower gears but on higher gears it does but here also thers a range of 6 to 6.3 whr the engine gets harsh but after tat all smooth.

Also i am riding the Pulsar the Honda way! The honda way of riding a bike is belting it everytime! And the bike doesn't mind a bit!
But mind u! I am ripping her after 6000 slow kilometers! The bike was never ridden like this during these kms!

Most of the shops will give you Castrol SAE 90 Gear oil when you ask for a SAE 90 oil, its pretty good. I've been using it for close to 3K kms now.Originally posted by Aryan View PostCould you please suggest any 90-grade oil for the drive chain? Have you oiled your bike's chain before?
Btw, do buy a O-Ring spec chain spray too, on long rides its difficult to carry SAE90 oil and more difficult to carry out the lubing process.Last edited by Praful; 11-13-2008, 01:54 PM._________________________

Engine Oil is also OK for the chain, though the 90wt. oil would have been much better.Originally posted by rohitmundra View PostI'm not able to decide a good SAE90 grade oil...Till then I'm using my used engine oil..it lasts 4 around 400kms..
Is it ok???

Buy the Castrol gear oil man, there's not too much of a difference between brands when it comes to SAE90 oil!

I have been using the Motul Chain Lube. Works cool and is easy to carry around on long trips. Costs Rs. 460.00.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostEngine Oil is also OK for the chain, though the 90wt. oil would have been much better.

Major advantage with this lube is that it does not get splattered around on the rear left side wheel rim. This means that you bike looks clean all the time.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

^^ as per me, sae90 oil is just perfect! total VFM... handy.. easily available.. and good results too! Those spray cans finish up real fast trust me!!
@chilled: is going for 90kms round trip just to tighten the chain a good idea? that too on busy days!! with worst road condition? SO i decided that. but now am worried about it!
@nitro: man.. the chain is soaked in oil... and please do tell me what is the other method? I also feel the pull in lower gears has decreased somewhat. And the sound is for sure... Should i wait to get it loosened on its own or get it done right away? or ob is better place to do it?
Glad that xBHP is back... and glad to be back on xBHP!!! :D
