this is 220 ryder from udaipur

i got couple of quarries bout the bike
1st is the really annoying noise from rear disc brake
now-a-dayz itz soundin lyk a rajdoots brake
i 've cleaned the disc whole lotta time but it never seem to give up

2nd is the oil issues from past 300 km i've been ridin it on power1

i wanna know weather itz de good oil to feed, n if not which one you guyz
      recommend ??

The rear disc of the P220 does take some time and a few hundred kms before the noises disappear..

..keep the disc pads clean and show it at the service center is the noise refuses to subside..

Did not quite get your query regarding the Engine Oil..

..but take care not to Put more than the recommended 1.2 lts of engine oil and stay away from 100 % synthetic oil till the bike has crossed 5000-6000 kms.

              • Chain Lubrication

@All: finally after promising a lot, I decided to post it...so with my laziness and slow connection aside, here is the chain cleaning procedure.

I have uploaded the entire set of photos to my picassa web album. The captions that I have added to the photos describe what I am doing.

Please do let me know if you have any queries.

Lolz.... after reading ur "tutorial" on Chain cleaning... I was wondering if chain cleaning is some kind of rocket science thing ...... Guys its plain common sense (use ur brains).... clean ur chain and lube it nicely (I mean the bike's).... hehe

Damn bro! I could'nt keep up with u as well expected to be ahead of ravikiran all the time since march. My baby was almost 2k kms ahead of his during our tirupathi ride.i Missed out lot of rides after the tir ride all for a single reason Now he is somewhere around 27k and am at 19.5k approx. Still 16 days left for my baby to turn 1 and 26 days for ravikiran!

Anyways its nice to see u complete 1 yrs bro!

how abt a 1yr ride report?

Man seriously speaking, looking back I think its not really a great thing. The bike is aging faster because of this!

Wow thats a good one really step by step guide...Kudos!
I'd put up something like that on old xbhp! That did not use the sufi motul chain clean, I had and still use diesel, as its sasta and tikau . Looked something like this....

Be happy that you din't clock as much, your bike even though a year old will be a lot younger!

Btw, you don't wanna have a peek at the 1 year report...., all I'd say is poor Bajaj!

                        • @niranjan: Thanks for posting that photo-essay of how to clean the drive chain of the P-220, would come in real handy for the P-200 as well! I need to acquire the Motul Chain Clean, seems to be working superbly, isn't it? Thanks again.
                          :)

                          • @Niranjan : That was a really good post man.... excellent guide. Shud come in handy not ony for P-200 and 200, but also for any bike with these open O-Ring chains.

@Praful : Am having trouble procuring the Motul chain cleaner man. So for that benefit, I request u to post ur guide with the diesel and stuff. Am having trouble especially with removing the chain on my bike.

@ all. Have you guys heard about dry chain cleaner. Chains of all new R15s and YZs look whitish in appearance and that's Yamaha dry chain lube, costs 1418 INR
I got it sprayed it on my during 2nd service of my bike and its lubricates well and lasts longer. Till now I was using Motul chain cleaner & lube.

So, that means this dry chain lube won't spray the oil remenants on the alloy wheels as well, supposedly? This would really be beneficial because cleaning the "after-effects" of chain lube can be a headache, really..
