hey guys i'm facing task
to choose right oil fo the bike
lemme start from inception
on my bike's first service
the service guys(non PBK) feed her, what they call "20w50" oil which they say dose a good job on p180 n recommended by the bajaj
soon after 300 kms or so i felt severe power loss n harshness in the bike
it demanded much gears change
n km/rpm ratio dropped by huge margine
after some 700 km frm 1st oil change i.e. 500km
i changed the oil to power one
n i noticed when the mechanic flushed the previous oil itz
thickness was even worse than water, believe me guys
now i'm not sure weather power 1 is 20w50
so can you guys help me out
what oil u guys recommend fo my bike which shod be 20w50 ???
n yeah what do you guys mean by co2 %
n what is contribution to engine's performance

Payeng & Aryan,Originally posted by Aryan View PostYes, I hear the Kirti Nagar service station is the best among the three Probiking service centers we have in Delhi..
Will need to go and pay a visit there for the next service.
Absolutely correct Kirti Nagar is the best & followed by Okhla I guess. K Bagh is very pathetic for a PBK.
But I must say that Mr Durgesh, the PBK incharge in Delhi I guess is a very good man. Very helpful"HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

Bajaj has seriously improved this P220 & 200. The 1st generation had their own problems. But, yes the newer versions are now quite better. MG rode my bike & said that my gear felt quite smooth when compared to his 220. Kudos to bajaj.
Also I BI has said that they are gonna launch Carbon Fibre exhaust.
Just curious, how much will it cost & what improvement in performance can we get?
Any one please?"HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

@ rx100.
Err.... itz not carbon fiber exhaust
itz just got a carbon fiber finishing on the outer side of it instead of
our regular shiny alloy color
n as of performance itz apparent that
outer design is never gonna effect on it
nether it gonna take toll on it......
yeah one cant predict if they 've tweaked the inside
catlike converter to meet new emission norms
@ aryan thanx a lot, 've u also been usein the same?Last edited by ryder_boney; 11-21-2008, 09:40 PM.

Did the P-220 had the fork problem as well!!?? I didn't know that, I thought only the 200cc Pulsar had this pathetic "problem"...Originally posted by prakash_mvpaSo ,for those early buyers of P220(last year included) ,Had Bajaj already changed parts for them free?I mean ,parts like front shock absorbers etc .It is a pain looking at some of the pics with the front fork broken!

yeah i was considering that after 5kOriginally posted by Aryan View Post@boney: Naah! I have been using the service center oil uptil now and I am wholly satisfied with that. Probably, I would shift to Motul or a fully synthetic oil past the 7-8k mark on the odometer.
n my biggest problem is not having PBK service station in the city
but i'm hoppin to not to get stuck in some ridiculous situation
n bike givven not a singal sign of it......
i'm lookin foward to get my next service at amhedhabad service station
as thatz the most close PBK station
finger crossed
has any body here got hid??????

It is a very old piece of news.Only P200 had problems with front shocks and all the pieces with the said front shocks was called back and replaced free of cost.Originally posted by prakash_mvpaSo ,for those early buyers of P220(last year included) ,Had Bajaj already changed parts for them free?I mean ,parts like front shock absorbers etc .It is a pain looking at some of the pics with the front fork broken!

220 never had this problem.
@ryder-P220 is very sensitive to petrol and engine oil quality.Make sure that you are using the correct oil grade. How is the petrol quality in your city?If it's not great then it's important to change the fuel and oil filter much earlier than the stipulated period.
HID will void your warranty.Last edited by MG; 11-21-2008, 09:47 PM.

i got really nice quality fuel
i get tank up from a well trusted gas station
n i regularly use power/speed petrol
n' as an added precaution the PBK dealer in Jpur (from where i purchased the bike) provided me a petrol additive from iftex brand n also poured a oil additive to the oil when i got the bike
my other Q. is
that i've heard a lot or read, fo that matter, bout the co% n setting
can any body spread a littel light on the co% n how itz corrected
gonna be a huge favor

Getting the correct CO setting is very important for the health of the bike otherwise the tuning of the bike gets screwed completely. You can face multiple problems.Originally posted by ryder_boney View Postmy other Q. is

Its very important to get the CO setting done on first service and thereafter on every service check it.The ideal CO figure for your bike will be around 3.
