I have seen people crashing badly because of power and disc brakes! Because they had no experience!
Moreover you will be certainly be sore for few weeks because of riding position.

But once you pass this phase, there are not many bikes which give the same sensation as the Pulsar does! It rips and rips all way through the rev range!

I don't want to discourage you but try someone's P220 before you buy one!
Lol you are hyping the 220 as if it is some torque monster.... and who said guys who have ridden 100cc bikes cant ride the 220...... its not such a big step up that one cant handle it.... like if it was from 100cc to 400 or something agreed...not to a 220 plz.... i had a friend who had a scooty pep before he bought the 220 and he had no problems with the bike.... and if they read ur post backwards they might prolly think u were talking about the rd 350 or something

    @akshay
U can go ahead and buy the 220 if u like the bike..... "a good bike is one that makes its owner happy"...not all the ppl here were born riders... jus be careful if u havent ridden geared machines so much..just initially... after that ull be fine....

considering the person has just ridden about 50-60 kms on a two wheeler!
even i had a Dio first. And even before i used to corner on a Sunny!

      • I completely agree that P220 experience is wholly different even from P150.
Try to be familiar first with P220 mate.
You can also opt for fz16.

            • ^^^ congrats praful , ek saal main 23K sahi hai.....

Since i cldnt go to Kutch this weekend , did a ride to Awas Beach(Alibaug).
For the first time tried SHELL Super Unleaded.
And am happy with it, lloks like i have got perfect petrol for my ride now.
Only concern is, its not available easily.
I am not sure but i thnink its 91 Octane.which is good for 220 i believe since it has compression ratio 9.5:.5:1
if someone has clear picture on this plz lemme kno.

@Niranjan : i think u have been using 97 octane.... can u let us all kno how good is it ?

PS: My CO settings has been getting screwed up almost every weekend i check,
So was doin a petrol change every week to check which suits my ride.Have tried Speed, Power and also Xtra preimum, Shell
              suited the best till now.
Will get the CO checked and update u all.

@Pushkar : best idea wld be to fulsh the engine and then use Motul.
Aprilia RS 125 or Honda CB400 Vtec ..... which one will it be ??? I think its gonna be NINJA ZX 6R :-)

              • @RAKHSUP 26: Well you can open up your engine completely and have it vacuum cleaned, after a thorough cleansing job!

You cannot drain your old oil completely ever! Some of it will always remain, so don't take too much tension about it and change your engine oil.

@Chilled: Phir se dekho, its almost 24K , anyways I have tried Shell on and off, did not find it spectacular. Somehow Xtra premium suits my bike well. Well I did try Speed97 too, in the zamana that it was for 60 bucks, used it for about 4-5 tankfills. Bike ran a wee bit smoother with it, no other changes felt. Other than the engine running really really clean...my sparkplug's thread where nearly silvery with it, unlike normal petrol.
But for 72/- now, it totally outta budget! for me atleast!

PS: To really notice the difference between different brands of petrols you need to use atleast 2-3 tankfulls till the old petrol is completely drained out!

Well, As i mentioned before , in my case the CO setting changed drastically in a weeks time i change the petrol .So was changing it.
I feel the main problem here is not with the brand but mixing in oils , am not sure if we get clean petrol here.
Shell being privately owned shld atleast provide good petrol (IMO).

                    PS : 24K

@Pushkar : Sumesh doenot wrk in that garage now, thou u can get the oil from him but change karne koi aur garage jana padega .
BTW : hows ur bike runnin ?
Aprilia RS 125 or Honda CB400 Vtec ..... which one will it be ??? I think its gonna be NINJA ZX 6R :-)

                    • well its ok kinda.. rear disc noise is now a habbit. Engine sounds harsh after riding for smtime. but i think aftr using motul it might change.

Yes, I have been using Speed 97 from day one. It retails for Rs. 70 per liter.
From what I have experienced, the bike runs clean, no detonation (with FI it is always less/negligible anyway); as praful says, the plugs come out real clean...also, noticed that my bike runs a bit cooler than other 220s that I have ridden recently. One other observation is that I need smaller throttle openings for the speeds that require relatively more throttle for the same speed (maybe the higher octane rating is responsible for that).
I am planning to try Shell as there is a trip that I am planning in December to a place where Speed 97 is not available. But if you ask me, I will always want to use the best brew for my Predator
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.
