  • i havent yet given my bike and i never leave my bike with PB, just dont trust them

They are aksing for an entire day to change the clutch plates .... sounds so dumb !
Also wanted to check the balancer shaft thingy .... the evening vibes are killing me now

So ideally its half a days work to sheck both ? clutch plates and balancer shaft , right ?
Aprilia RS 125 or Honda CB400 Vtec ..... which one will it be ??? I think its gonna be NINJA ZX 6R :-)

I missed this somewhere, but has your balancer shaft gone for a toss?

How many kms done buddy? If it truly is your balancer shaft, trust me the bike will worse than a vibrator from hell.

But yes, ideally speaking it should take close to the entire day to get this job done. Entire day, coz they will have other bikes in inline for service too.

It depends on PBK to PBK, but I'd be really surprised if even the head service engineer say he doesn't not know what/where the Balancer shaft is!!!

Yes, it should take around a day for this.

BTW, the PBK here operates on a FIFO basis. You can try taking your 220 there on a Monday early morning at 8:00 AM (PBK here opens at 8:30 AM) to ensure that you are the first person in the list. Normally they do not keep backlogs for the weekend and they try to finish all the jobs by Saturday; in which case, you would be the first one there on Monday with a lesser workload.

This may then be over in half a day itself.

Regarding your balancer loading, the PBK here did a decent job with Chetan's 220. He now enjoys the bike a lot .
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Bhai I am a newbie to biking, and have never had the experience of the balancer shaft going kaput.

But I guess over time it can go kaput. And even without going kaput it can have an adverse effect on vibes. Getting the shaft balanced can help to a huge extent in reducing vibes.

Contact Hitanshu, his bike had the same prob in one of his rides. He had to ride all the way from Jaipur like that! :O

am not sure whether its balancer shaft which is the culprit or something else,Cause every day while returning frm returning bike behaves very harsh, the PBk guys are sayin its clutch plates but am not sure......

@Aryan : AFAIK it doesnt go kaupt but, needs overloading.

                    • ^ Aryan : AFAIK .. As the engine revs high the rotations of the piston(s) also increases, which generates a lot of vibrations with its rotation(i.e if anyhting is rotating faster then it produces even more vibrations)...!! So, Balancer shaft is used to control these vibrations..

5th tank full, I assume you have done about 2.5K till now! Thats good, if my riding was limited to that much I could definitely afford to use Speed97, not with the current 2K/month running!

My bike is doing fine, Bangalore climate doesn't seem to suit it. Even after tuning for Bangalore thrice, the bike still ran better in Chennai. Apart from a general loss of power the bike's running fine. It needs a new set of shoes ASAP. Which it will get around its first Bday which is 10 days from now!
