Yes, i know, but it really pisses you off when the top end of your P220 is 122kmph which just completed run-in properly. Its also disturbing on the highway.I love my bike, and i want it to be in perfect condition.

Yes mg, even i thought so, but it was cleaned during 2nd service at 2200+ kms.Now the bike is reaching 3000kms.This problem started after the 1st service.
About the power loss,i never used to rip my bike before the 1st service, so i really dont know that if it can accelerate more sharply.

As far as the 'trrr' sound, get used to it. Its normal!

Using a DOT4 brake fluid instead of a DOT3 does reduce the sound a wee bit though. But the improvement is not that great that you get the brake fluid changed.

And as far as convincing you goes, well we just told you our perspective, the final decision was taken by you only naa....
Yes i know that, and i just wanted to know your perspective about the problem, nothing else!
thanx for clarifying the noise issue. Its not that bad actually. But the sound was not there before the 1st service, so i thought its not normal.

If you are from kolkata, then talk to Suman da or Sinha da at probiking, if you are facing the problem. They know about cleaning throttle bodies, i can assure you that.

          • i am experiencing severe pain in my palm when i ride long hours especially with a pillion. i feel when i break mine and pillion's weight comes to my arm. i use padded gloves, still i find the pain really unbearable. is it cause of my riding posture??

well, buddy even i have faced this problem, because the seat is dsigned as such.

but while riding with my uncle , i could find the solution that i asked him to create some distance between him and me, because then , whenever you brake, the pillion has to apply the pressure at his feet, instead of just falling over you.

a suitable way was that i asked him to keep the a light carry bag on his laps , which naturally created the distance.

              • ^^ well, that could prove risky for the pillion... coz theres nothing to hold.. and if u accelerate suddenly, things can go bad. Conclusion: This is not a good advice.

@rish: how long do you have this bike? Coz if its new, then its just adjustment issues. Me too had them in the beginning... but everything went fine after a couple of weeks. U will get used to it dude. I do not have any gloves.. then too! Still, if its that severe, you can think of changing the grips.. try HH karizma ones, but buy both for left side.. will be available at HH service centres.

                  • jigar: i am using this bike since jan 2008. i think its enough time to get adjusted. in the start i used to have this problem even for short trips in traffic and i got used to it. but long trips well over 100 km has become an issue. i am planning for a 600 km trip and i am really concerned.

I had problem something like yours bro. Whenever riding alone I used to crouch a little while riding basically it takes some weight off your hand and specially palms. Its just a matter of getting used to it and not thinking the more u think about ur hand the more you concious and the more it pains.

                      • P220 Handle Bar Grips

After one year of ownership I have noticed that the Handle bar grips of the P220 have become soft now..!!

Earlier it used to hurt the palms on extended rides.. Don't know whether the grips have become soft or the 15000 Kms of riding have worn of the hard edges

hmm.. i think its something to do with your riding posture then. The best way is to make ur bum touch the edge of the pillion seat. This reduces lot of weight on the wrists + knees dont touch the fairing (if at all they do ) + the rearsets become more comfy to work with. Its the ideal sporty position. How do i know this? Coz when my dad used to ride my bike, he complained of wrist pain too... and we both are 6 footers... so i told him to change his posture like me and now we both drool over this handsome bike

if this is not the issue, then change ur handle grips.. or better padded gloves. I cannot thinkof any other possible reason.

P.S. I distinctly remember, when i bought my Avenger in 2005, it had the same grips... and those grips would shed the skin of my palm every now and then... however it was a matter of time before it resolved by itself... either the grips became soft or my palms became hard enuf

                          • has anyone tried monoshocks on p-220??? sounds like a good lookin plan, probably givin it some better handling points and equating it wid an R-15..

                            wat say??

i think its this rather than it getting soft.

With monoshocks the P220 will defintely perform better , but still it will not be able to get the stability of a Zma and the cornering abilities of R15.Zma has a balanced proportion and R15 has Deltabox frame which gives it good cornering abilities.
