Thats a very good review, absolutely spot on with everything!

    Changing to Motul 2moro.
Aankh band go for it, if it leaks, don't break your head over it. Just refill 100ml after 1-1.5K kms.

But when I started the bike again every thing was fine and the accleration was right on spot with a little of lag. Not sure why this happ any clues MG what was wrong... chetan, praful, payeng any input bro....
Can't say exactly, but just maybe the fuel pump did not do job it was supposed to do.

I hope you have done 10K kms on this filter?? If not, don't change.

    2. Fuel Filter

3K kms ho gaya on old filter? If yes, then change.

    3. Cone Set.

Any handling issues? If not, dont change!

    4. Front Disc pad ( I can see rust on the inside ).

Don't worry, it is surface rust. The disc is heat treated, it will not really rust.
    See my replies in bold.

I got mine changed at the 20K service, even though they were good for another 3-5K kms atleast, but I just hated to power loss.

Signs for clutch play wear out:

      1. Bike accelerates slower than normal i.e. takes its own sweet time to reach a high speed.
      2. Looses more speed than normal on a uphill.
3.Feels even more sluggish with two people.

These basically indicate that the engine is not able to take the load. And the last and best way IMO to figure out atleast for the 220's

      4. In 5th gear exactly at 6K rpm the bike does 83. This indicated speed will drop with increase in clutch plates wear out. Like mine was doing 80 @ 6K rpm

      Hope this helps!

Got my clutch cables replaced today as a precautionary measure. Odo is no just over 22K.
Thanks for the info.... my bikes done 12.5K most of it is highway so i thing no need for clutch plate change.
Also mine still does 83 at 6k
but thr is slight pick up issue and bike becomes harsh after long rides ....which is y the PB guys were sayin might b clutch plates..... but then again they just guess
Alos if the engine is opened at local mechanic then is the warranty void ?
Aprilia RS 125 or Honda CB400 Vtec ..... which one will it be ??? I think its gonna be NINJA ZX 6R :-)

If the PB guys are ready to replace the Clutch Plates then I'd say that get them removed..

and for the P220, I would also advise to stay away from the Local Mechanics.

          • Guys, any idea what exactly is the purpose of the Steering Cone Kit exactly? Makes helluva difference after replacement.. I'd almost given up on my ride after 2 crashes thinking a bike could take only so much and that the handling would never be the same again, but hey.. she's back!

              • Hello guys,

My Pulsar 220 is 2500kms old.Im having two problems.
firstly, the bike should do these speeds
                4000 RPM: 57-58 Kmph
                5000 RPM: 70 Kmph
                6000 RPM: 85 Kmph
                7000 RPM: 100 Kmph
But my 220 is doing 54-55kmph at 4000 RPM and 94-95 at 7000 RPM.
CO is set at 2.25%, the chain is properly lubed and tightened by Kolkata probiking and proper tire pressure is maintained. Before the 1st service the bike used to do around 57 kmph @ 4000 rpm but the problem appeared after that.I though that the problem will be solved after 2nd sevice but it didnt.Using the semi-synthetic valvoline oil provided by PBK,will change to 300v after 3rd service. This is a little irritating on the highway.
                secondly,
Im getting a "trrrrrrr" sound from the front disk whenever i apply the brakes.Reported the problem to probiking and they cleaned the disk pads. But it didnt help.
Apart from that, everything else is fine.

also posted the above thing in venkat's orkut community about 2 weeks ago, but he havnt provided any solusion till date.Any help guys? MG,Praful??(since posts of these 2 people convinced me to buy the 220)

shivam this is the most common problem u will face with disc brakes be it any bike and it is practically impossible to remove that noise for good. But yes there is a work around to solve the problem.. try goin a few pages back and you will find the answer to the problem.

yes i know these things, i'm using xtra premium from the begining, engine oil is valvoline semi-synthetic provided by pbk guys, tyre pressure is as per manual,a little more actually,28psi and 30psi and chain is properly lubed and adjusted.
everything else about the bike is fine, no other problems anywhere!

                          • ^^^ to be precise bike does 83 at 6K, as Praful has mentioned a few pages back, also these thinks depends on various factors which not only includes fuel,CO, air pressure but also external factors.
@Ani : i feel u need not worry that much , until unless u face serious power loss.

@ shivam007 : dude both ??? did u change the disc pads ? i just get tat frm rear cause it was changed during 5th service... its really annoying though tat sound... especially in stop n go traffic.

                            • BAJAJ SC sucks !

Just came back from PBK SC (Shreeram Bajaj)thane, here are the turn of events.
                              1. 2 weeks ago 18th Oct, i had gone to this SC and mentioned to them about engine harshness they suggested CO which was set and all was good from their end but not from mine.
                              2. Just after two days i called them and mentioned the issue. they said come on weekend.
                              3. Just to make sure they get the harshness , i did a round trip of Siddhivinayak(about 60kms) on Sunday 26th October and went to SC directly. they did find the harshness and suggested checking clutch plates. got an appointment of today as they were as usual busy tat day.
                              4. today i was there even before they has started their shop.
                              and excuses started
                              a. "Aaj bahut gadi hai so it world be difficult." i said boss i have taken appointment a week ago. atleast u guys cld have informed me yesterday sayin it wont b possible.
                              b. "kal ke 4 gadi pending hai woh hone ke baad aaj ke gadi and then my bike"
after lot of arguments i spoke to the head thr Mr. ambekar.
                              now his excuse
                              c. "Areee, 220 ke clutch plates hai hi nahin stock main "

WTF is this ??? some kind of joke ??

Am am seriously thinking of taking my bike to other mechanics now.
The rear disc brake noises is already driving me crazy.
                              FCUK the SC !
Aprilia RS 125 or Honda CB400 Vtec ..... which one will it be ??? I think its gonna be NINJA ZX 6R :-)

                              • ^^^ The problem you have given above seems to be the BIGGEST problem with this service center... They never have time.. and what a small svc center it is! Have faced the same problems.. i have to waste an entire day from 8am to 6pm just getting my bike serviced here.. i come from vasai btw.. just 45kms away

Why cant they increase capacity? instead of giving lewd answers? otherwise thy are fine
Glad that xBHP is back... and glad to be back on xBHP!!! :D
