  • @Manoj: Although I wouldn't be able to help you with the prices of the spares that you have asked for, but as far as your former question is concerned, YES, they would surely accept your bike for servicing.

I had completed 4,200kms. on my P-200 when the 4th servicing of my bike was done! And they did not say anything. All the four services of my bike has been done well BEFORE the scheduled kilometres (or the time period).

There should not be any problem, really.

I've asked many friends in my circle but i'm not able to get any details about anyone dealing in engine oils and other stuff.
thanks to Sudipta for telling that iridium cost 1000 otherwise i would have surely paid 1800 on it.
i have a concern about my tyres though. when ever i break hard then the rear of the bike starts to skid on right side.
do i need to change my tyres ? though they look fine to me. haven't got punctured yet and the linings are all in good shape . i was thinking about getting it changed to michelin but still i can't find a person dealing in it. only car and truck tyres are available.

So if there is anyone in chandigarh or anyone who knows anyone near then please tell me
      thanks
How many kms have you clocked on those tyres till date?

Another thing, you are never supposed to jam the rear brakes, you need check your braking technique. Use the front more than rear's, distribute braking between front and rear in the ratio of 70-30.

Michelin's the only option for you is the Sirac. Its a 120/90 tyre, which means there will be slight drop in pickup, but the bike will be a wee bit more relaxed at highspeeds. The other options you can look at is the MRF Vyde, Sakura Street Shark & I think there are somethings available from Vee Rubber too.

It will look damn HOT no doubt, even your backside will be HOT too when you have a fall coz the bike behaved in a manner that you did not expect.

Please don't try and mess around with the handling geometry of an already bad handling bike.

But if road presence is what you crave for....please go ahead!

1.Drive chain lock and link set
      2.Fuel filter
      3.Throttle body O ring.

These three are supposed to be replaced during third service.(saw this in the manual)
What the hurry dude? 300kms can be done over one weekend easily!

And apart from the fuel filter I don't think they will change any of the above stuff. And since your first fuel filter is being changed, do make it a point to get it changed every 3K-5K kms (max!!) from now on. Coz none of the replacement filters last as much as the factory fitted ones.

      Filter costs around 50 bucks, don't remember I'm running a M800 filter !

Tip: The 220 is as it is running a very small service schedule, try and get ur bike serviced as much as possible towards the end of the service schedule!

Praful I know I can complete 300kms given a weekend but the thing is my semester exams start on Friday and it continues till Dec1st.I wont be able to take my bike for rides. And moreover I feel that my bike badly needs a service and am planning on a ride to Thirupathi on Dec2nd .So want to be done with the servicing before that.

regarding the parts to be replaced,I saw them in the manual. So I should change only the fuel filter is it??

P.S:When did you ride back to Bangalore??

Then get it done, no issues at all. But remember to stick to schedule as much as possible as it can affect your warranty claims at times.

You can talk to PBK to find out what all are they changing, mention to them about the parts mentioned in the manual that need changing. But definitely change the fuel filter.

I rode back on Tuesday morning, came straight to office!

OT: Nope, I removed the riding gear a few kms before office, went to a barber to look decent and bought a shirt to look even more decent. Funny situation it was....

              • i didnt opt for the tefflon coating offered by the probiking. instead i wax my ride fortnightly after washing off the old layer with car shampoo. i do it regularly and i feel i got a better result compared to tefflon. waxing removes small scratches better than tefflon. also after each wash bike got that original shine. but recently probiking guys are asking me not to do it as it will damage the paint over the time. any gyan on that guys?

bro use the amyway car wash it is non oil based and doesnt attract unlike wax does. But still wax is far better than that teflon what they do.

What I dont like about wax is it seeps through that logo and doesnt come out leaving the ugly white stains.
                  sigpic

                  - = - = - = - = - Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't. - = - = - = - = -

                  Ride safe, wear gears.

yeah, white stain is nasty. every time i clean that feel i have become a craftsman carving out the log. heard 3M polish is the best. gonna try that. its easy to apply too as its like shoe polish.

still does frequent use damage the paint like probiking guys told????

i feel its other way around. everytime tefflon is applied a layer of paint is lost.

i think he is trying to rob another 750rs from me.

applying wax over painted plastic parts will lead to discoloration over a period of time. whereas it can be safely used on metal painted parts like the tank.after applying the wax try to rub the plastic parts with a white cloth and look at the color on the cloth.the cloth gets stained with color from the bike. so now iam using 3M premium liquid wax.its a little bit better than the solid wax polish.

teflon coating costs 250 bucks for 3 applications that is what they told me at the PBK. teflon ll reduce the need of polishing your bike. after the teflon coat all you need is a good car shampoo with wax shine like the Formula 1 carnauba wash and wax, and polishing with liquid wax once a month to give your bike that mirror like glazing
" if WRONG is a T-shirt ; then wearing it inside out doesn't make it RIGHT "

What you say is true...but in most cases, I have observed people using Formula 1 or Turtle Wax of the Hard type. This requires quite a lot of buffing and from what I know, buffing is an art in itself .

Many of my friends try to bring the shine and gloss by buffing the cloth on the waxed surface as if they were trying to scratch a rhino's back .

I have a 3M Teflon coat for my Predator and on that I use Armor All Premium Liquid Wax. I have been using it on my Pulsar 150 Classic for over 3 years now and there is no discoloration of the painted plastic parts (This may be due to proper buffing).

Some of the advantages that I found in this polish
                        1. The shine is deep and there is a wet look feel all the time
                        2. Very less quantity is required to polish the entire bike
                        3. A thin coat requires very less effort in terms of buffing
                        4. Reasonably priced

In fact Inder.Cool's ZMA was polished with my polish and it received a lot of admiring glances from fellow ZMA riders.

Will try to post the pre and post polish pictures later...

BTW...check the link for the Armor All product that I use Armor All

                        • I use (hardly) the sasta and tikau Waxpol Silicon polish. A silicon based polish is supposedly better than a wax based polish.

But the 3M teflon coating is the best thing you can give your bike, whenever the bike returns from a wash it looks just like new.

So moral of the story please do get the 3M coating done for ur bike!

Changing clutch plates can be done in an hour to hour and a half's time!

Why you ask? How long back did you give your bike?
