@NV: When i apply brakes its a huge sound like we used to have on the Hercules MTB ka cycle.. but thts only when i do harsh braking and i can live with it.Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View Postis it squeaky squeaky as in a continuous squeaking noise or a squeak only when you apply the brakes?
@chilled: his bike has done 10K+
Most frustrating part is the squeaking noise at lower speed on 1st gear abt 15/20 kmph..and it keeps on squeaking till i put her on 2nd gear.
I feel something is brushing with the Disc .. just dont know wht and why and why only on lower speed. It was never there earlier. I regularly wash my bike.
Start the day with your dream , end the day with your dream, in between work hard...

Once while cleaning the chain of my 220, I observed that the rear wheel was not free. On inspection I found that the wheel was free for most of the rotation and used to slow down as if braking in one part of rotation.Originally posted by RAKHSUP 26 View Post@NV: When i apply brakes its a huge sound like we used to have on the Hercules MTB ka cycle.. but thts only when i do harsh braking and i can live with it.

Like in a 360 degree rotation the wheel slowed down in around 15 degrees of travel at some point.
Went to PBK and the fault was analyzed as a mis-aligned wheel. While adjusting the chain tension, the rear wheel was adjusted tilted towards the right side since the alignment nuts were only tightened on the left side. When set free, there was immediate difference.
I feel that most of the 220s might be having this problem and hence the brake pads wear out faster and there is a squeaking noise. Ideally brake pads make a sound when they have glaze on them and continuous brushing against a part of the disc is the perfect recipie to put on glaze.
Check if your wheel rotates freely.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Niranjan >> If the wheel is not properly aligned, i think a part of the disc surface will always be touching the pads - throughout 360 degrees - isn't itOriginally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostOnce while cleaning the chain of my 220, I observed that the rear wheel was not free. @RX: Seat cowl!!?? I never knew that the P-220 uses a seat-cowl. Sorry for my ignorance but please enlighten me. This is a seat cowl if I am not mistaken, and I don't remember seeing it on ANY P-200/220/or for that matter ANY Indian bike (except the R15) till date with one!Originally posted by rx100.7050 View PostWent to PBK Okhla. In theory, yes...if you imagine the top view of the disc as a plane and the pad as another one, with bad alignment, it should always be in contact. However, as I found out, it wasn't...I was initially suspicious that the disc was bent but after correct alignment, the wheel rotates freely...the PBK mechanic did not even touch the brake caliper.Originally posted by caravikiran View PostNiranjan >> If the wheel is not properly aligned, i think a part of the disc surface will always be touching the pads - throughout 360 degrees - isn't it
Plastic is straight 50% payable. Depreciation can be/is applied on Metal Parts. I have just taken an estimate. The bike is right now with me. Actually I dont wanna go to K Bagh PBK. What I am gonna do is call up the Insurance people & tell them that I dont have time & I want by bike done ASAP. Will ask them to come to Okhla PBK & make the full payment to them at that point of time & give one copy of it to the insurance. PBK said that it will take a day or two to get the bike done. As it is kinda month end, I am waiting for the next month. Plus, I am my bike is nearing 10000 kms. So 5th servicing is kinda due. Will get all these things sorted out at one go. The front fork is slightly bent too. Will have to get it repaired too.Originally posted by Aryan View Post@RX: How long before your P-220 is back to perfect shape again? Did the PBK guys give you any estimated time-frame? And is your P-220 at the PBK service center?
Lets see, what is more there for me now"HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic
