Does the idling settle at 2K even when you are in Neutral?

Don't worry too much about the water collecting yet!

Correct prices - Fairing plastic - 1600 Rs.
    Fairing Frame - 600 Rs.
    Headlight Assembly 3500 Rs.
    plus the labour cost.
Well the fairing by itself is pretty good looking, but IMO doesnt gel with overall design with the bike. Like I said...thats just me...

And it has nothing to do with vibes, my fairing stopped vibing when it was 15K kms old!

The prices are different for each city!

PS: Guys, did 37K on the odo today...actual figure is about 500-600Kms coz of the recent speedo cable damage.

      Loose connection most probably.

... and at times the idle remains above 2k rpm..i then give the throttle a small blip for it to come down (sometimes had to sitch off engine for rpm to come down)...happens even if the throttle is in 0 positon... i even checked for obstructions in the accel wire and cables .came up with nothin.... happens only after prolonged riding... for 20+kms or so.so figured it must be due to engine getting warmed up.but still in state...

The RPM raises when engaged in a gear.. try shifting to Neutral Next time the RPM raises. The idle RPM will return to its normal level.

Check these posts for more explanation on why the RPM rises when you engage a gear

Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

yes prafulji..... actually when the bike's rpm is growling over 2k continuously, i infact shifted from neutral to gear and went ahead a metre longer and then shifted back to neutral.still rpm dint come down...then i tilted the bike left to right slowly... not too much.small lean angle..hoping the fi system reacts to it and brings the rpm down.it dint.it felt like as if i was on a carb bke and someone had increased the idling screw.looked down at the place and i felt silly....I HAVE FI ....

don't thank me dude , we deserve to be catered to for all this stuff , but sadly in India who gives a *uck about customers. Being a cry baby/problem child is the best we can do to help ourselves

cheers to the new sparkling silencer !

There is a switch attached to the clutch lever setup which goes to the solenoid (near the battery). Now this switch near the clutch lever develops carbon deposition after some usage and hence does not disengage the clutch properly (so the rpm does not come down to idling - and later bike refuses to start in gear).

This issue is occuring in my bike from the time I got my solenoid-clutch changed to new one (under warranty).
Just tell the mechanic at PBK to clean the carbon deposited in that switch near the clutch lever (with a sand paper), and your bike will start behaving normally.

But this will start again after 800-1000kms.... I have still not found a permanant solution to this, maybe changing the complete solenoid setup again might help. Somebody else facing this particular issue??

                              • Guys good news, my bike is now a Swift diesel!

Its given me between 15-20 kmpl the last two times I filled fuel!

Got it re-tuned yesterday, so I hope its back to normal now. Another fuel up will only tell.

PS: The 'old boy' is still hitting 138 on the roller bench!
