Nope we (atleast I am not!) are not happy with Bajaj's attitude !

    Wat happened to your ZMA????
Zma was sold on 10th march '09,
got the R15 on 18th march '09 which can't be used on varied roads two up, but boy am i satisfied...ok different topic...
but overall what is the response of you guys(FI) of the carb 220 as my cousin wants to trade the P-220 FI for ZMR(no service and bike has niggling problems)

was at the local bajaj dealer and they sold 3 P-220 today, the carb is simply flying out of dealerships.

what do you think of P-220(new),as p-150 which was used by me for commuting has been sold i am on a look out for a new motorcycle with varied choices- P180, Fazer and P-220, no RTR solely because i find it not very comfy for two up riding and commuting over bad roads...
      thanks...

When the rains started, for once I was scared whether it would sustain or not, but gradually the fear just went away and the grip on the water is actually good. Never experienced it on off roads. For rs700/- what else you want.
Thats quite cheap man. How is the grip offered on corners? I brake even while cornering. Any difference in overall character of the bike? Is it a worthy upgrade from the stock tyre?

          Blah! Blah! Blah!

          My Journey so far........

          ......and many more to come!

It all began on the 16th of November 2007.......

The Start - Just taken Delivery at ProBiking, Chennai!

And today 2 years down the line on 15th November 2009......

The Present - On the eve of its 2nd Birthday, NICE Road

Its been 2 years and 48000+ kms of using my bike now! The ownership experience has been nothing short of FUNtastic. Every time the right wrist whacks the throttle wide open the surge of Torque just brings a smile across my face, absolutely no regrets in buying this bike at all. Even today with number of miles it has seen it still manages to reach speeds of 135+ and if the conditions are right even shows a 140+ speedo indicated, even the mileage has been a steady 34-38kmpl so far. For a bike that's supposed have lived half of its life (Almost full life if you consider that its a Bajaj :P) the bike is going great guns. The service center induced problems that arise once in a while are an irritant, but the moment you "Twist the Wrist!" all these minor issues are forgotten in the surging wave of torque that makes the rest of traffic fade away....

Still waiting for the day a worthy upgrade/replacement exists in the market......

PS: Was too wrapped up with work to post this a week back!
Amazingly put up there. A very neat and clean write up with emotions flowing through each and every word. And overall a happy Pulsar owner. Congratulations for the completion of 2 years of your darling. Iam sure with the care u give she would serve u for years together.

          Nope.. Not at all happy.
Its only the poor service quality which leads to issues. The bikes are well built and can take good amount of abuse. P220 is a good option.

                  • ^ well i removed booster..just after tht day ,,after ripping part (125kmph)...all the insulation material in it got removed by air pressure..it was soundinh freaking loud like a bullet..or messed up bulllet...yesterday i removed booster..will put some insultion in it..but not now..

abt bent pipe..it is of pulsar 200 which i took from KABADIWALA ..as der was no other option...pbk guys insisted to buy whole exhaust....der was no problem about bent pipe being smaller..it was OK for it...rather weld was also fine..no leakage in whole set..it was about i started liking the bassy sound...but after this shit happened..i am very much regreting my decision....

I WUD SUGGEST PEOPLE, NOT TO TRY THIS BOOSTER OR FREE FLOW.or IF you WAnt THEn spent some 5k+ bucks on it..LOCAL MATERIAL-LOCAL SHIT..like tht

the insulation material is nothing but GLass WooL.... it increases more muffling .... in my booster there was heavy deposit of carbon and the glass wool eventually burned away due to the intensity...( pls Note : my booster on a simple 100 cc bike ) i can imagine what a 220 would do it

yeah the investment of 1k dint work out for me toooo...

see on a carb bike u can change the carb setting so that it runs much leaner or richer to accomodate the free flow...
thats what my mech told me... further explanation he dint give....

i did well for 5months on it... use it only when u need to ..maybe on track..
for now give it a rest ...

                          • ^well there are many names for exhaust(silencer) which are aftermarket.called booster aka free flow.thought they aent verfieid at all...and have low quality(locally made)...the only thing they do is A bassy exhaust note(firing) of bike.also as i noticed in my freeflow it revs quicker than stock.but however they cause equal damage to engine valves if used for long time....

                            hope i helped you...

if ur booster is very well shielded then u must PRY it open...(means use force)

they have small rivets on it i suppose ...don worry u'r local mech can do it...
glass wool is pretty cheap...every exhaust has a filling of it...muffles the sound better..

                              hei bhai how u ?
                              in brief ?? ok......

                              normal exhaust..
fuel and air mixture goes inside chamber..gets burned..
exhaust gases come out...go to catalytic converter..harmfull gasses are converted into water vapour etc etc... and goes thru a series of chambers in the exhaust for the sound to be muffled... then u hear a little PUrrrr sound of ur exhaust...

                              normal exhaust disadvantage,
by the time the old burnt gasses are out, new exhaust gas is again formed in the exhaust pipe....continuously engine is working right ??gas not passing out FAST..... so lesser performance.. hahahah at this time im thinking bout the human body ...wonder why !!!

but normal exhausts are tuned for efficiency and soft sound....

                              free flow exhaust
fuel and air mixture goes inside chamber..gets burnt..gasses come out... now no catalytic converter to filter harmful gasses....
gasses go onto next chamber where there is nothing to muffle the sound...so BUD BUD BUD sound....

                              advantages....
LOvEly bullet like thump... very well tuned exhausts bring out the best from ur engine... normal ones sometimes will kill Ur engine or will put out less performance than before...u should know what ur doing for these things...

                              disadvantages..
more sound... compromise engine life..... misfiring... moreover because of absence of catalytic converter , harmful gases not filtered..
what u would you prefer living with ?? Your Choice....
