IIRC, you are using the stock Champion spark plugs, change them. Check for wear of the following parts :-
    1. Chain Sprocket
    2. Clutch Plates
    3. Disc Pads
    4. Cone Set
    5. Clutch/Accelerator Cables

For the moment this is all I can remember. Any specific issues you are facing with your bike?

As for Siracs, they are not readily available. Sai Iyengar Tyres quoted me a 2 weeks waiting period and 1800/-.

spark plugs are irridium so no need to change them now i have a lot of noise commin from the fairing of the bike as if metal is in contact with plastin and it only happens at a particular rpm (low revs) too confused abt tht ! chain and sprocket i got changed at 15k kms i only problem is the noise from the fairing also i needto change the mirror assembly i wanted to knw if there is any way r15 mirrors can be fitted to this ????? just a speculation

The AutoService guys do a very good job for damping the faring vibes. About the R15 mirrors, well nothing is impossible, but their basic design is slightly different from the standard mirrors. Instead you can try the RTR mirrors, I have them on my bike. Its better than putting the P150 mirrors!

      • Need help with Feedback on P220 FI

Hey P220 owners, I need your help to decide whether I should think of P220 FI or not?

I have almost made up my mind to buy the ZMA but I am very impressed by the P220. THe reason I am wary of P220 -

        - Servicing by Bajaj guys in Delhi. they knwo nothing about diagnosis of a problem. I faced problem when I had a P 180 till 2006.

        - Problems reported in electricals and sometimes in the FI system of the bike.

Please help me decide. I need feebback on servicing by Bagga Links - I heard they have a special team trained by Bajaj for high en bikes (P220/ P200/ Avenger 200). Is it true

Reliability of the bike. How well can it take on high altitudes, ageing etc. Built quality?

        • @Dhairya: Good to see you here. Now, Bajaj service in Delhi is really good. I regularly visit the various probiking service stations and each time they have done a real good job of diagnosing a problem, and eventually solving it.

As for the reliability part, I have taken my bike (P200) recently to the Spiti Valley where the altitudes vary between 8,000 and 13,000 feet and the P200 has performed brilliantly. Not even a single time did I feel any loss of power, or any kind of pulling problems. All in all, she performed in a superb way!

So, if you are actually thinking of getting a P200/ P220, you can be rest assured about the servicing part. They (the Probiking guys) really do a very good job. I am speaking from my personal experience here.
          :)

DG bhai, I thought I shud have replied to your query on the other forum!

            Anyways,

-Servicing in Delhi, AFAIK is pretty darn good. Atleast this what is most the Delhi guys here say!

            - The FI system is from Delphi, and is prolly the most reliable part in the bike! Electrical issues, well thats something you can face in any other bike too. The ZMA comes with its fuse blowing prob too... I would not say the Pulsars are as reliable as the other 'reliable' bikes there. But its not at all that far behind. It can take almost any abuse u throw at it.

            - High altitudes are no probs at all. Infact ur better off than all carb'd bikes out there.

Reliability of the bike vis-a-vis the ZMA, the 220 will loose out on that aspect. But I would like to say that the newer lots of the 200/220 are way more reliable than the previous lots. Overall it is a pretty reliable package, its just a notch below rest.

As a closing note I just want to add, its a Pulsar after all...you've owned one!

It is not a even a true ABS however it helps a lot in keeping the vehicle in control all the time During Panic/ hard braking & steering under Braking!

              The Test Results -

1).The Rear under hard braking does not step out!!!
I braked hard in a panic situation as a big stone came on my way flying from the tires of a big truck.
I was riding around 110+ & braked hard & tried to turn the vehicle a little also.
To my Surprise in that speed without losing control I was able to steer it away when the brake was applied!!!
That makes a real testament of the efficiency of the product!!

              2).The Braking Distance Reduced!!!
It reduced the braking distance only by may be a couple of metres in a high speed sudden braking!!
However that couple of meteres can be a life saver!!!
To top it up I did not lose control on the high speed brakings at all!!

              Simply - Terrific Product!!.

Nice review mate Thnks. How much ?? and which make/co. If its that effective surely i need to install it.

Thanks. I am not tempted to really wait for the newwer version. Is it really being launched in June end? I think it would be worth a wait.

What should I be careful of when buying the 220?

A lot of people will tell you to wait. I somehow don't believe Bajaj has any upgrade for the 220. But thats just me....

Nothing specific to look out for when you a 220. Just few regular checks need to be done once you own one!

                  • @ dhairya

I took the bike an year ago to Ladakh Ride.
                    No issues at any point.
3800+kms done & not even a single Hitch.
My Bike is 17000kms old now.
                    No Major troubles.
Yes it had some minor glitches which can get rectified easily.

I have got a rare chance to visit some of the country Probiking(Delhi,Mumbai,Pune,Hyderabad,) and I can tell you that the DElhi one is ahead of all others by a fair margin. If you are not getting good service in Delhi you won't get it anywhere in India maybe Bangalore.

There will always be a doubt with electricals but it's the same with all the bikes laden with so many electrical gizmos.Just for reference my 220 is lying idle in Delhi for the past 7 months and one press was what needed to get back it to life.

The only issue that I guess is still not 100% error free is the silencer.I can still see some P200/P220's silencer leaking.

Are you sure about this? I have not yet heard a new model (i.e. the one with rivets for the heat shield) leaking.

Mine is still going strong. Got the riveted one at 25K...now 12.5K kms gone by its still holding on pretty well!

                            • Not sure its either the riveted joints or the small hole.

If its from the rivets on the heat shield. Then apparently its normal. Mine has a small leak from there too.
