BTW, do check if you ordered the right grade, i.e 15W50. Motul 300V is available in 5W40 as well in India, your distributor could have quoted you for that grade. And it is cheaper than 15W50.

Wait a minnnnute.. These oil leakage problems, are from the cylinder head part? Not the crankcase gasket?Originally posted by chetanpulsar View PostAs per the three service centres (SK Bajaj, Navi Mumbai / Shirode Bajaj, FC Road Pune / AutoService, Banashankari, Bangalore) that I have visited.... the mechanics say that gasket leakage issue is prevalent even with non-motul oil using P220s. They put a sealant (on the circumference of the gasket) by removing the head of the engine, hence the issue gets resolved.
Regarding the cost of 300v 15W50.... they prices are rising bigtime (donno why). The last time I head the price was 750rs/litre around a month back.... prices differ from dealer to dealer.
Like you said, I also had the black circular rubber thing replaced after applying some sealant on it generously since oil was leaking...

790 for 300V?? He has overquoted you. If you bargain, and go to wholesale dealers, he can give you a heavy discount. I got some packs for 680/-.
chetan says the price is rising, when did you do your last purchase bro?
Oh right on. I've been experimenting for somewhile now and the 220 does have the demonic capability to destroy any engine oil in a very short span of kilometres.Originally posted by ajinkya View Posti just ordered motul 300v from the main distributer for Rs 650 a can.
one thing is there motul seems to be the engine oil for the 220 as with any other oil i have noticed seviere heating and clunky gearshifts.
I think the Motul it is then.. And please do answer pranay's query too, are you sure 650 for the 15W50 grade?Riot Engine |Norton WD 16H | BSA C11G |Enfield Fury

Even mineral oils can leak from the head part. Btw, my head has hardly leaked in the past 20K odd kms since I've been on Motul 5100T. Super VFM Oil.
There is no specific reason for the leaks, but yes 300V does make it a little bit more prone to leak due to its double ester property which makes it a little bit more active.
The prices are rising for sure. In the open market it should cost you anywhere from 750-795.
Pranay and me got it at a slightly less cost for a variety of reasons, like he had purchased about 4L of oil for his bumblebee and then we purchased about 3L of 300V so hence the discount.
And you're right about engine oils not lasting. Castrol Mineral was the worst for me...200kms and gone.
The only mineral oil that lasted 1.5K kms was Motul._________________________

Motul 5100T runs 3.5K kms and costs 375/-. Thats VFM, not 300vOriginally posted by chetanpulsar View Post650rs/litre is real VFM for an oil that runs for 4k+kms

The motul distributor will not give it at 680 now. You would have to buy it in a larger quantity._________________________

For me, the smoothness of 300v even after riding for 600+kms continuous, feels like it has just warmed up, thats VFM.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostMotul 5100T runs 3.5K kms and costs 375/-. Thats VFM, not 300v

Though I've never used 5100 in my P220, but in my bro's 180 we used 5100 for quite sometime, but after shifting to 300v, the engine is feeling really different
.
Btw, which dealer is it?? Name/number??Chetan
