    Exactly. That is why I shifted back to Motul from Castrol.

    BTW, do check if you ordered the right grade, i.e 15W50. Motul 300V is available in 5W40 as well in India, your distributor could have quoted you for that grade. And it is cheaper than 15W50.

      Oh right on. I've been experimenting for somewhile now and the 220 does have the demonic capability to destroy any engine oil in a very short span of kilometres.

      I think the Motul it is then.. And please do answer pranay's query too, are you sure 650 for the 15W50 grade?

          Even mineral oils can leak from the head part. Btw, my head has hardly leaked in the past 20K odd kms since I've been on Motul 5100T. Super VFM Oil.

          There is no specific reason for the leaks, but yes 300V does make it a little bit more prone to leak due to its double ester property which makes it a little bit more active.

          The prices are rising for sure. In the open market it should cost you anywhere from 750-795.

          Pranay and me got it at a slightly less cost for a variety of reasons, like he had purchased about 4L of oil for his bumblebee and then we purchased about 3L of 300V so hence the discount.

          And you're right about engine oils not lasting. Castrol Mineral was the worst for me...200kms and gone.

          The only mineral oil that lasted 1.5K kms was Motul.

            yup i was told 650 for the 15 w 50 the mrp is 795 but if you can get it from the main distributer then you can get i for 650

              650rs/litre is real VFM for an oil that runs for 4k+kms

              @Praful/Pranay: Which dealer in Bangalore sells for 680rs/litre?? (I need to buy 2 bottles soon)

                Motul 5100T runs 3.5K kms and costs 375/-. Thats VFM, not 300v

                The motul distributor will not give it at 680 now. You would have to buy it in a larger quantity.

                  For me, the smoothness of 300v even after riding for 600+kms continuous, feels like it has just warmed up, thats VFM.

                  Though I've never used 5100 in my P220, but in my bro's 180 we used 5100 for quite sometime, but after shifting to 300v, the engine is feeling really different .

                  Btw, which dealer is it?? Name/number??

                          Called up Cherry Agencies... hes quoting 850rs/litre .... the MRP on the bottle is 895rs he claims. Hope I get it cheap from somewhere else.

                            Call up and tell him that your friends bought 7L for 680 bux, he might reduce the rate a little.

                              Told him that, but he said that time the MRP was less.... now it has shot up like anything . Will try to get it from Mumbai then.
