yes, the weight has no significance.. this is possible if we run super bikes..
for example, when i was riding doubles, i was able to hit 132 on speedo once... i stayed on that mark for over a half kilometer.. our weight was 65+60.. on a downslope we did 134, but only for a split second.. we couldnt cross 132 though we were fully crouched.. another time when we were riding doubles, i could hit only 127.. we were 65+90.. i think weight does really matter on our puny bikes..

      • Anyone experimented with front tyres apart from stock?

I am looking a change for my tyres, they are not totally worn out but in gravel and wet they are giving way under hard braking.

I was considering more 'grippier' options but I don't feel like paying to hefty a premium for a front tyre.

Anyone tried the FZ front tyre?

Thanx rahul, ya, initially we thought of taking dtsi (Fastest Indian), which bajaj claimed higher top speed than the dts-fi, but for better roll-ons & acceleration in the 5 to 8k rpm range, no bike beats the dts-fi. and this bike is purchased specifically to do the IBA run which we'r planning in the coming months (if the monsoon permits ). The dtsi is actually tall geared to achieve the claimed top speed so we thought its useless for our purpose which needs good roll-on acceleration.

2600km on odo a strange "tuck tuck" sound is coming from around sprocket area....
it only sounds when i change gear and release clutch or when i accelerate suddenly....
first i thought it was chain. but it is tight enough.....
can anyone tell me what is reason behind it and how to rectify it....

                    thanks..

if your looking for a good tyre with good amount then why not go for R15's front. 80/90...I'm using it with Vyde and the bike feels completely in control. Even its good on wet surface as compared to others.
                      here in delhi
at mrf showrroms its for rs.1100
at a tyre shop for rs.900 -(200) for old tyre exchange- 50(xbhp)=rs.650/-

there is another one of IRC (the flame design) for rs.1300/-...my frnd using it and he totaly happy with it.
                      No idea about fz's front
                      choice is yours.
                      its all about CC...

for the r15 tyre what is the speedo error cause there is quite a big diffrence in the tyres height compared to the stock tyre,
irc tyre here in mumbai costs 2600

I find no difference in speed at any rpms....no speed error!!
and the tyre is just 80/90 as compared 90/90 default...thas a very minor difference..soo there wont be an speedo error

                          • cause the profile hieght if the r15 tyre is 72 mm while that of the stock tyre is 81 mm the fz tyre comes close to the tyre hieght with 80 mm so i thought there might be speedo error

yea even I heard about the error thing...but I don't find any difference on the speedo meter on my p200..not at all...
but in the end you need a good tyre with a good grip and this tyre serves the purpose.
Although I'm very much scared while leaning during the rainy days but I've seen some pics of R15 doing stoppies in the rain, so from that I can judge it may be good for rainy season.
But for the normal conditions, this tyre suits our bike completely.
