that usually happens when its too cold and the idling is very low.. increase the idling to about 1450-1500 rpm.. i run at 1350 rpm..Originally posted by Bibhu View Post

RPM is not the problem neither is cold engine, this happens even with the bike run for more than an hour.Originally posted by rahul9985 View Post+1...

Its a 40K kms run bike, quite a bit of its looseOriginally posted by rahul9985 View Postthats a tough job man... rev limiter in 1st gear

.. u are gonna loosen the nuts and bolts soon...

i'll try it and post the test results...
For the city I would prefer a shorter geared bike and the Sirac makes the bike taller geared. Stock would be fine with in the city!Originally posted by rahul9985 View Postwhen u say for someone who drives mostly outside the city, what do u mean exactly? is it not good for city riding? is there a better tyre for city driving?
Just from a gearing POV I would not prefer a Sirac if more than 70% of my riding is in heavy traffic!
The 220's rev limiter cut-off is pretty soft actually , we need to have a comparo though!Originally posted by pranay View PostI don't know about other bikes, but my bike goes a bit psycho if I rev it hard, either it bounces back like rubber bullet to a wall, or it over revs sometimes. These are general readings.
There a few 220's of xmen around here, come for the g2g's you would know...Originally posted by vid_powerstroke View PostHow many guys from here owning 220's are in bangalore ??
coz i saw a person and what looked like to me was he had a daijya or an avg helmet...with a red and Grey jacket.... anybody from here??
Btw, wats an avg helmet!

Its weird, never faced anything like that till date.Originally posted by Bibhu View PostIs this a normal quirk or should I get it checked?
Also is it advisable to put r15 tyres on the 220? the 100/80 one in the rear?
The R15 rear would awesome as far as road grip is concerned, acceleration will improve quite a bit.
BUT, you will loose out on top-end quite a bit, and the bike will be very short geared._________________________

Its a give and take. With the stock engine you can either increase acceleration/topend which will have a corresponding decrease in topend/acceleration.
If you want to increase both, then the engine needs to worked on to make more power/torque._________________________

I am seriously thinking about the new dtsi rear sprocket.

man, my rev-limiter cut-off's are :-Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostNow the rev-limiter cuts off at the following speeds thanks to the taller gearing :-
1st Gear - 49 kmph
2nd Gear - 71 kmph
3rd Gear - 100 kmph
4th Gear - yet to test
1st gear - 47 kmph
2nd gear - 71 kmph
3rd gear -100 kmph
4th gear - 129 kmph
tested on various roads three times.. the speeds fickle by 1-2 kmph when rev-limiter kicks in for sometime.. iam confused right now

you are welcome bro.. get the steering cone set changed.. its a little time taking job.. take the bike to pbk and pretend as if you know nothing..Originally posted by monty007 View Postyaah...my handle feels little hard...can it be problem..ill chk for bend n as well fitting of tyre....thank you for perfect suggestion...

Some questions:
1) Do you own a DTS-i or Fi?
2) What is your tire specs?
3) Any sprocketing done?
Because these figures are way too optimistic for a stock 220 Fi.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe

Yup it makes loads of a difference. The white back ones have much larger speedo errorOriginally posted by rahul9985 View Postyup! how does that make a difference?

But even with speedo error doing 129 in 4th is shocking! Rest is pretty much within acceptable limits_________________________
