i have a query regarding the AFR.. there are two cases for it.. pls shed some light on the pros and cons of these..
          1. running rich- i havent noticed anything except drop in mileage.. is it really bad for the engine? any advantages?
          2. running lean- i have noticed increase in mileage and backfire (not misfire) issue.. is running lean really harmful on the long run? any advantages?

finally, what should be the ideal mileage under 50% sane and 50% insane riding conditions, when running on CO% 2.5 ?

If you're running rich then there will be more carbon depostion, and in the long run you face powerloss, ring wear out, etc

If running lean, you will face engine overheating, and over the long run it will eat up the valves...

AFR is best set as optimum, and the CO reading output given by the gauge is not the precise way to check out AFR. Its best if you read your plugs to check the state of the mixture in the engine.

Just a bit lean from stoichiometric would be the best for performance.

Mileage is something that cannot be fixed for a specific model of a bike, it will vary from engine to engine also. Even then ideally speaking the bike should give anywhere from 35-38 on an average. Anything more is a bonus and any thing lesser is, well a hole in ur pocket!

i have changed the spark plugs to NGK's.. but the champions were perfect.. the insulator tip around the center electrode was orangish in color and the service adviser said thats perfect and everything is running fine.. and i never felt major power loss even under very high engine temeratures.. and i feel the heat of the engine always.. my bike gives 39-42 depending on riding.. now just for an idea, is it running lean? the CO tool isnt working here for a long time..

Even after a month they were unable to fix it. I simply disengaged the auto choke and I am riding the bike normally. They have promised that it will be fixed in the second servicing. If it is not. I will simply go to a consumer forum and file a complaint against Bajaj itself, NOT the showroom. then again its only my own thinking.
No dude, you should make the dealer a party to the case too! Makes a lot more sense, whichever way you look at it.

Vyde looks like a SBK tyre.....my colluage just had an argument with me saying vyde is bigger than sirac and henc it looks perfect for 220.
