I'll try and take a pic with a 220 with a stock tyre to give you an idea. The contact patch is more or less the same coz the sirac is a 120 section tyre.Originally posted by vid_powerstroke View Post@praful : bhai what is the width of the contact patch of ur Tyre on the road ? wont it provide an unwanted drag ? rolling resistance? HONESTLY TELLING IF I PULL UP BEHIND U ? IM gonna think its sbk
... first look is SCARY

Michelin Sirac Rocks!!!!
Done about 380kms since I got the tyre....
Now the rev-limiter cuts off at the following speeds thanks to the taller gearing :-
1st Gear - 49 kmph
2nd Gear - 71 kmph
3rd Gear - 100 kmph
4th Gear - yet to test
I don't remember the stock cut-offs, can some test it put it up?
Overall refinement has increased due to the taller gearing. There is no loss in flickability, infact it felt more flickable than a Zapper C shod 220, but that tyre had run 17K so can't really make an exact comparision.
Cornering grip is also not compromised, can take corners at almost the same speeds as I used to in the Vyde.
Definitely recommended tyre for someone who's majority riding happens outside city limits.
Thank you RaviKiran and Satish for doing the running around for getting me the tyre!
A treat for you two whenever I ride to Hyd!

.. u are gonna loosen the nuts and bolts soon...

i'll try it and post the test results...
when u say for someone who drives mostly outside the city, what do u mean exactly? is it not good for city riding? is there a better tyre for city driving?
even i have the same problem. but that is due to uneven wear of my almost bald zapper mostly coz of burnouts.. never had a puncture, so no idea.. since u said the bike tends to lean to one side, get the forks and wheels checked for any bend..Originally posted by monty007 View Posthey guys...my bike doing some nakhras now..fixed the punture recently..now the bike tries to lean toward or go toward one side..like if tyre it fixed on track..is it is problem of llignment?not getting the feel n confidence on corners now....suggest something plz...Last edited by rahul9985; 08-12-2009, 07:02 PM.Biking is not my Passion, it is my Religion!

I don't know about other bikes, but my bike goes a bit psycho if I rev it hard, either it bounces back like rubber bullet to a wall, or it over revs sometimes. These are general readings.Originally posted by prafultripathy View Post1st Gear - 49 kmph

1st Gear - Illa
2nd Gear - 64 kmph
3rd Gear - 94 kmph
4th Gear - 119 kmph
5th Gear - Haven't reached rev limiter.
It might be due to the differential pressure I was telling you about in my tire. Also the cone set as you said.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostOverall refinement has increased due to the taller gearing. +1. Awesome road grip.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostCornering grip is also not compromised, can take corners at almost the same speeds as I used to in the Vyde.
I guess ORR is pretty much that only. Jai Sirac.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostDefinitely recommended tyre for someone who's majority riding happens outside city limits.

since u got ur tyres puncture fixed , its very obvious that there is ill fitting of Tyre.. remove tyre and put back again..or check for rim bend like how rahul told...should solve the prob...My BiKe DoEsN't LeAk OiL, iT mArK's ItS TeRriToRy !

A little enquiry as you people have lot more experience with the 220 . when I start the bike, some times my starter clutch dies and the bike shuts down with a big shudder. then starts again normally.
Is this a normal quirk or should I get it checked?
Also is it advisable to put r15 tyres on the 220? the 100/80 one in the rear?Last edited by Bibhu; 08-13-2009, 08:04 AM.HYPERTHRUST CLEARED AND COUNTING
