hmm.. i guess the sound from a stock 220 is good enough. but if you really want that "extra" grunt, try the k&n R1100. the pbk guys dont recommend the k&n, but i have been riding with R1100 from the past 7k kms.. i dint experience any problems though..Originally posted by Sak8 View Post@nike
if that doesnt affect much then what should be done.?

The one i enquired was for 2.2k..... in Blore(indiranagar)....Sorry but i dono what the filters identification or series no. was....... will find out if u need it.....
talking bout other effects..... i think they'll have to get rid if the air filter(stock) casing in ur bike..... in 200's they get rid of the box.
( i got to kno two days back)... I definitely wont let any one tamper my 220 and finally end up removing something.

Pls note...i think the grunt will be thunderous
.(or i think so
)...

i paid Rs2300 for the k&n R1100 (thats 6months back..Originally posted by Sak8 View Postthanks man that really helped

) bought it somewhere in jc road.. The effects as suggested by the pbk guys were that there could possibly be a damage to the bore if the intake air is not clean.
The other effect is that you get a really better pick-up/acceleration/grunt but you'll have to sacrifice the mileage for it..( i used to get about 38kmpl with the stock filter and with the k&n i get only 28kmpl
)

Hi
I'm back to this thread after long time.
Meanwhile I experimented with lot of things in the Past couple of Months.
Gearing ( Rather Sprocketting)
I changed the Rear Sprocket to the 38T1.
There is Very Good increase in Pick up.
But U Loose around 7kmph in the top end.
My bike which USed to hit a Top end of 136 hits only 129.
Then I went ahead & improvised a free flow Exhaust.
I got a terrific mileage of 40+.
I sensed that the Bike was running too lean due to the Mileage & the severe Back firing.
So I made the mixture rich enough to stop the Back firing.
Now My Topend is an impressive 135.2.
Please don start a war here.
The Only tests I Did on it were the roller bech test avail in the Bajaj & highway runs Using GPS.
I don have any equipment to check it.
Couple of 220 owners checked my Bike & were quite impressed by the way it behaves now they compared it directly with their 220s.
If Some1 wants to knw wht I did & how I did I'll give the details & they can do on thier Bikes.
If Som1 wants to start a war - I'm at peace.
There is no 13T sprocket avail here for the front.
Please let me know if any1 finds the 13T I definately need 1.
In the rear I tried the 36T also.
It made the bike relaxed & U get higher topend of 141.2(Through GPS).
U do notice some drop in Acceleration.
However I need to check this with my new free flow exhaust.
Note: Please check that some of the numbers got messed up due to 3 different checks - GPS, Dyno/Roller Bench & Normal Speedo.
Speedo has an error of 3-4% Due to worn out front tire.
These are the final figures which I Made a note in my Lappy.sigpic

^^ Nice. I had experimented with the 200's 38T sprocket for a trackday, it was fantastic, but the already short first 3 gears felt even more short and I hated that so I reverted back to stock.Originally posted by Prabhakar View PostHi

Btw, where did u find a 36T sprocket? Did u steal it from an 220 Dts-i
PS: The ZMA has a 13T front sprocket, but its lock slot is much larger than what is machined on our bikes and hence there is some play introduced which will shear of the locking mechanism over time.
PS:PS: If you want an extreme fun bike, try the ZMA's 40T rear only, its compatible and makes the bike a crazy drag bike. But just be careful so as not to stress the bike too much in the lower gears...a 220 I know running that setup had a fried piston due to the extreme torque._________________________
