      Yep am at aapice.
is it better than zapper vyde and IRC in terms of handling while leaning and road grip over wet surfaces? what about its grip on sand and gravel?? what is the tyre profile??
sorry i asked too many questions at a time
and drop in acceleration, is it marginal or drastic? what is the affect on top end?

getting a tyre couriered.. man, u are mindblowing
my rear tyre stock should last for about 4k kms more.. so, which one would be better, vyde or sirac or IRC or any other?
please shed some light on tyre life and also the cost.. that dealer is pretty close to my area..

The Sirac sold in India is branded as TubeType and even Michelin recommends using that tyre as a TT. But many people have used the tyre as a TubeLess without any issues.

Even I would be using it as a TL tyre.

That question can be best answered by RaviKiran as he has used both the Sirac & Vyde back to back.

Between the IRC MB99 & Zapper Vyde, I found Vyde to be marginally better on all counts.

The sirac is a 120/90 tyre and hence sits 12mm higher than the stock tyre, there will definitely be a noticeable drop in acceleration, but not by so much that other bikes would be leaving you behind. Topend is more or less going to remain the same, coz even though the bike is taller geared there is not enough torque beyond a certain point to actually push the bike to a higher speed.

The tyre was not available in Bangalore for more than two months now, had to resort to courier. Infact before this I was going to place an order from Delhi

My experience with the rear tyres

        Zapper C - 25K Kms - 1700/-
        Zapper Vyde - 12K Kms - 1900/-
        Sirac - ??K Kms - 2200/-

        • I rode RaviKiran's bike with the 120/90/17" Sirac tyre for about 100kms.&the confidence it inspired was amazing. Didn't lose out much on the top end, his bike could do 137kmph speedo indicated. It does look like a tractor tyre though-thats why we all call it so!

Yep...yours is bad enough. Atleast ravi's contact pact was lesser and the wear out patch was lesser too. Guess you do lot more cornoring.

I have'nt rode a 220 with IRC. But with sirac i can bet my money. Its has done wonder's to Zma and 220. Drop in pick would be marginal and you will easily notice it. And your tope end will increase too. Its the best tyre for 220 for offroading as well. Infact Praful is getting it for the very same reason.

As praful said Ravikran Uncle is the best person for comments on this. Try out his bike.

            • Prabhakar: Nice experiment dude. Do tell more about the performance later on.
I have one query though. how much loss of acceleration are we talking about when fitting a larger sprocket at rear (lets say 1 teeth more) ?
Will it make engine a bit stress free? I guess so. Top end also might increase a bit.

Diehard: Nice pics man. I LUUUUVD the Aprillia very much. It really has that Hooligan look like all street naked bike

Praful: Finally the search has ended, eh?

Last I heard the strike was off! So you can still get Zappers.

Else IRC has two options IRC WildFlare 90/90 (used by Ravikiran) & IRC MB-99 100/80 (used by chotarascal200).

There are a few options from Metro Continental, but they are Tube Tybe if you're interested.

Btw, which tyre did you choose for the rear?

Originally posted by diehard View Post

Even the Zapper Vyde is a soft compound tyre. Between the Zapper Vyde and Zapper C, definitely the Vyde has an edge in high speed cornering over the Zapper C. Rest they are more or less the same.

Strike is off but the stocks haven't arrived. I enquire about it every week. Where can I find these IRC?

The Vyde will still run for a cpl of thousand kms and as it is the rains are almost over.
