@prafultripathy, sir do you think that P220 have a closed loop? But I feel it is an open loop fi system and not possible to remap. Justification for ths...Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostHa Ha Ha....ishmart boi...
Tuning = CO setting + Airscrew setting
Cooler air better, coz its more dense than hotter air. But then there is a 3000 Ft altitude difference between Chennai and Bangalore. And they higher up we go, the air gets less dense. Coupled with a drop in atmospheric pressure. The tuning that I was running in Chennai was perfect to the T, the bike was a rocket and Chennai xBhpian's said the same after riding my bike post the 10K service. Here in Blore the tuning is leaned out to a great extent and performance is taking a beating, but I do get MUCH better mileage bcoz of that, its consistently around 37-38 here, whereas in Chennai I barely managed 30-32!
That my boy is misconception, there are primarily two types of ECU's one is open loop and the other is closed loop. The Open loop sensors have a O2/Lambda sensor at the exhaust, which adjusts the tuning with change in O2 density. Ours is a closed loop with no such feature.
But, still the 220 is suprisingly able to cope with high altitude sickness with great ease.
Guy, my bike is in for its 10th service (5th paid), any pointers?
Open Loop
Open loop simply means there is no feedback of the result to the ECU. In our case, it means there is no sensing or measuring of the exhaust gas to see how the bike is running. The fuel injected is determined by the RPM and throttle position, derived from fuel injector pulse width numbers stored in the fuel maps, and is trimmed for environmental conditions due to air temperature, air pressure and engine temperature.
Closed Loop
Closed loop means there is feedback of the result to the ECU. In ths case, it means there is sensing or measuring of the exhaust gas to see how the bike is running. This sensing is done by a probe (a galvanic cell) which generates a voltage based on the gas around it. These probes are referred to as Oxygen sensors, Lambda sensors, O2 sensors, Exhaust Gas sensors and probably a few other names as well.
Please correct me if I am wrong...Just wish to know the difference

For the past few months my bike was returning pretty bad fuel efficiency.Inspite of servicing on 2 occassion the fuel efficiency was still low. that's when i decided to take the bike again to PBK and force them to check CO. i shocked to see the CO at 6
. got it adjusted to 2.8. here in Jaipur the PBK dont check CO during routine servicing and when you ask all they tell you is that its OK.
i checked the spark plug today. can you please tell whether its still running rich/lean .here are the pics:

Sorry for the bad quality pics.took it form my mob cam .cleaned the spark plug and will post a better pic after a few days of running with the current plug.Last edited by burnrubbernotursoul; 03-22-2010, 10:45 AM." if WRONG is a T-shirt ; then wearing it inside out doesn't make it RIGHT "

Looks decent in bits and pieces but in whole it would be interesting to see a cross-pollination of different bikes in one!!Originally posted by yash3 View Postand this is the pulsar 200 moddified

at last after waiting 1 week i finally got my bike back after the parts changed those were damaged by accident...
front brake lever,
fairing,
fairing back cover,
structure fairing,
head lamp assembly,
front fender,
rh blinker,
and lh fairing air intake changed.....
and fork aligned, steering overhauled.
it spanked me a hard 7834.00 rs.
but bike again is as new
..right now there are no foul vibrations.
one more thing my bike is running 6300kms and 4th servicing was also pending,
but they already serviced it(general co setting,etc...)and bike is running fine,
now should i give it to service again?
or to leave this service??

You might not do the servicing again, But, Get the 4th Service coupon and rest signed by the SC guys. It will help in future as if any problems arises.Originally posted by Sak8 View Postat last after waiting 1 week i finally got my bike back after the parts changed those were damaged by accident...
