      • R15 tyre with sirac

        @prafultripathy

i'm using R15 front and sirac in my FI 220,
i dont have enough confident with the R15's front while riding in hills
and braking is not that good comparing with the fz's tyre . . . . .
but R15's tyre is better than the FZ's in many terms . . .

and recently did 143 kmph @ 10,100 RPM

        • Picked up an Amaron battery for 1750/-. Its a bit on the higher side but it comes with 5 year guarantee+warranty. I've had enough of exide.

@Yash: Please either multiquote your posts or edit your previous post and add more info. Don't keep posting back to back.

R15 tyres are pretty good, but for just cornering the FZ tyres will definitely offer better grip on our 220 rims.

PS: My bike did 132 without crouching!

          • Hello there 220 owners
sorry to interrupt you guys as i don't own a p220 but a fiero f2.
i wanted to ask for a favor from you all (specially mumbai lads)
I'm in the middle of modding the headlight of my bike, i just wanted to ask that if anybody has a broken dome of 220 and the HIGH beam reflector in it than plz plz plz pm me.
also if you guys go to bajaj svc & can ask them if they have a broken dome or something.
all i'm looking for is the high beam reflector only (the one above the projector).
            not the lower beam projector.

thanks and please please do let me know..
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

            • Looks like the thread died!

Anyways, On 18th a problem was found out in my bike. It was making lots of noise like loose tappets and worn out cam chain. The problem was diagnosed to be problem with Rocker arms and valves. Was cautioned not to ride at high revs as the valves might bend hitting the piston and seizing the engine. Went on a bit on the saner side but still the bike broke down on 21st. Actually had hit the rev-limiter a couple of times. Did a few burnouts also. Finally was hitting the rev-limiter in traffic when the bike died!

Work on my bike started on 25th and the engine was opened. After opening the head cover, we could see lots of play in the rocker arms. Looked at the head top and lifted it. The intake valve spring fell down as the valve had broken! Pulled out the head only to see that the intake valve was bent to about 75 degrees and the valve guide actually broke!! Next checked out the piston crown only to find that the bent valve hit it bad and caused a small crater on the crown! Very Sad...

The work was being delayed and i ended up calling the head of probiking Mr. Rahul Hawaldar. Gave lots of complaints regarding the workshop. He took it very seriously and got the work quickly done. I also got the valves, valve guides and rocker arms in warranty!! Will be getting a new fuel gauge as well! The workshop is in a fix and they had a very bad weekend!

Got back my bike today morning. Hit the rev-limiter thrice in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. Not shifted to 4th and 5th gear yet!! Happy with the bike again. Its Performing great. As a goodwill gesture got a call from Mr. Rahul Hawaldar and i thanked him for the prompt response and action. Also changed my clutch plates and sprocket. Plus little other things. Total bill about 4k...

Ah! I'd forgotten about the 5 years warranty. Well that is subjective and svc centre can dismiss warranty claims on any basis, eg: bad fuel!

but damage due to bad fuel can be detected easily! svc rejecting the warranty was one reason for me call the higher officials. You always have them for backup!
