IRC in the front has 3K lesser than rear, its 12K kms old. But it needs a change. Will change it within the next 2-3K kms max.

Ok this is weird. My bike was showing 88Kmph with Sirac at the back and Stock tyre in the Front. With IRC it showed 86 Kmph. With IRC the speedo becomes more 'accurate' i.e. shows a lesser speed.Originally posted by yuv_biKING View Post
Got Sirac for 2.6K inclusive of fitting and Nitrogen @ Sai Iyengar Lalbagh Road.Originally posted by vinal_22 View Post

Oops, seems like very soft component. Going for Wild Flare again?

Gave my bike for an insurance claim and got it back yesterday evening.
Things got:
- New fairing
- New speedo-meter
- New visor
- New mud guard
- New mud guard clamp
- New handle bars & weights LH & RH
- New brake lever
- New indicator RH
- New mirror RH
- New footrest rear RH
- Couple of extra things like wheel truing, fork truing, labor, chassis truing, welding etc & little periodic spares
Set me back by 7600. Now my bike reads 50 kms on the odo.
Actual reading should have been around 36k kms now.
Technical info:
The older P220 FI's come with older hardware and software version of the ECU when compared to the newer ones. There are a couple of changes in the electricals as well, for ex the charging system & the BCU cut-off's. Got to know this today when a older one (prabhakar's) and newer one (mine) were connected to the FI tool and the parameters were compared.
EDIT:
Read about the tire discussion. Iam having R15's 80/90-17" Zapper FY for my front & Sirac for the rear. The grip levels offered by the R15 tire on tarmac is simply terrific & for anything off road simply pathetic! I would not recommend it for everyday commute or for street biking. The reason being the low profile of the tire and the forward inclined riding stance. The bike's front is lowered (80/90 front) & the rear is raised (120/90 rear) which might not be comfortable for many. It puts quite a lot of stress on your wrists! Also under even the most gentle braking, the pillion rider would slip to the front and fall on your back every single time (good if the pillion is always a girl
). At the same time due to the R15 tire's low profile bumps, speedbreakers & blah blah if hit at a higher speed will bend the wheel for sure if not break it! However i like it!
For pure performance usage i kinda liked the setup & my confidence levels are really high! I have very impressive high speed lean angles for a pulsar!
For regular usage i would recommend a tire like FZ's 100/80 or stock tire or IRC wildflare. The reason being they can take hits at higher speeds, they wont lower the bike's front and are pretty good when it comes to the dry road grip and can provide fair grip off road aswell.Last edited by rahul9985; 06-17-2010, 03:19 AM.Biking is not my Passion, it is my Religion!

Bad Crash looks like?Originally posted by rahul9985 View PostGave my bike for an insurance claim and got it back yesterday evening.
Over a period of time, a lot revisions have been done the electrical system on the bike. Some times the SVC center would notify you and do it, sometimes they would do it for free and sometime they would charge you... And most times they would forget to update the bike with the changed parts simply because "If its not broken, Don't fix it!"Originally posted by rahul9985 View PostTechnical info:

But ECU s/w changes? How did you verify that?
This is a HUGE topic and best if you start a new thread for it!Originally posted by Huzee View PostI got the non-FI version... love the smooth power flow...
I was just wondering what is the diff betn a FI and a Carb bike ?
Is it just fuel efficiency ? and by how much ?

lol.. No da.. I actually collected all my small stupid crashes & damages and claimed the insurance at once for the first time. I myself broke the meter and got it in insurance...Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostBad Crash looks like?
Yeah.. I can see lots of internal differences.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostOver a period of time, a lot revisions have been done the electrical system on the bike. The ECU h/w & s/w version is different for mine and prabhakar. Iam sure even yours would be a different one from ours. That is the reason why both our bike's didnt fire up when we swapped ECU's for a race. Can be checked in ECU Identification Mode of the diagnostic tool.Biking is not my Passion, it is my Religion!

Amaron battery is a very good opTIon. comes with 5yr warranty. 2yr full replacement warranty and after that 3yr service warranty and if there is a need for replacement, you will get 40-50% discount on the new one .Amaron is any day better than Exide.i bought it for 1350 a year ago.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostAny battery recommendations?
Been using Exide for last two times, time to try something else now!" if WRONG is a T-shirt ; then wearing it inside out doesn't make it RIGHT "

Thanks for that piece of info. That 2 year full replacement warranty is something I would need badly as both my previous batteries failed right after the 15 month mark till where the Exide battery replacement warranty lasted.Originally posted by burnrubbernotursoul View PostAmaron battery is a very good opTIon. comes with 5yr warranty. 2yr full replacement warranty and after that 3yr service warranty and if there is a need for replacement, you will get 40-50% discount on the new one .Amaron is any day better than Exide.i bought it for 1350 a year ago._________________________
