Seems either your Injector is dirty, Your Throttle body is gummy , Your fuel lines are dirty , Your Fuel pump is not getting enough juice pre 2100 engine rpm. Or it could be all of the above =( do a complete fuel system overhaul.

So what 3 years later, Well in 2009 the New 220 was released and They did not put out a 250 from DUKE because DUke is not a motorcycle company they are Distrubuting a 125 FT LC KTM that its model name is DUKE a KTM 125 Duke hehe. so yes they did put out a new 220 in 2009 and in 2011 a KTM 125 Duke Fuel injected Liquid cooled Motard =D

The exact same problem i faced in my 220fino one solved that problem adjusted co many times cleaned spark plugs, changed fuel filter & airfilter but the jerking issue didnt solved at all between 1~2k rpms the bike jerks only in the 1st 2 cogs in rest of the gears and at above 2k rpm the bike will be just fine.

Nothing in high RPM.Even after getting Fuel filter replaced, Air filter cleaned, Injector cleaned nothing majot happened. Lastly they checked the timing of the fuel pump I guess (they said that there was issue with timing, not timing chain) & now it's back to normal.

This problem is absolutely rectifiable. See my above post.

              • Following is what I got to know after I called up PBK just few seconds back.

Valve timing adjustment (can be done) , ignition timing check (can't be adjusted by them), fuel injector cap changed & cleaned fuel injector.

                        will do surely.

                        Guys,
Just wanted to share this happiness with you. Though I have done some short-long trips on my bike but the latest one is very special. I went to Mussourie during this weekend with my dear wife as pillion. I will post trip details & pictures later. Buying Pulsar 220 was one of the wisest decisions I have made in my life (I am bad in making decisions). This bike is totally worth the money. It really pulled quite well considering the weight it was carrying. Total kms done was 600+. On highways I managed to keep this bike running on 90+ kmph on most occassions. It proved really powerful while climbing steep slopes with me as rider & my wife as pillion.

I would definitely like to see a better , more powerful multicylinder Pulsar with better shock absorbers & brakes. I may very well opt for a twin cylinder Pulsar than any other Japanese brand

                        • Running in update:

After my 2K kms ride I can say the new bore has set in properly. I am now riding it all out the way I like to ride no holding back.

Bike is running super smooth and power is back to 100%, can easily sustain 125+ with luggage and without crouching.

Bike was ridden in very heavy rains, very bad road and no road sometimes. Had the following issues :-

                          1. Speedometer conked off - Water+Dirt in the sensor
                          2. Declutch switch - Parked in rains for 6 nights and ridden in the heaviest rains for 6 days so the declutch switch has started acting up, so now in gear with clutch pulled it idles at 2K rpm
                          3. I had changed the crash guard to the 220 Dtsi crash guard just before the ride, so one of the bolts had vibrated itself and fell off for one of the crash guards so a low buzzing sound was there.

Apart from these 3 issues the bike now has crossed 70K Kms and is performing brilliantly. Due to the speedo conking off the odo is still stuck at 69.7K. But its about 1K kms more that in reality.

3.5 year down the road, this bike still brings a smile to my face

You are one of the few 220 Fi owners who have actually rigorously used the bike. I have been reading your trip log very eagerly. Since I get limited time to read I will reply back once am finished with the reading. But must say that you just don't rock, you ROCK HARD man!!!
Kudos to you & your bike.

Yes this bike will definitely bring smiles onto your & our faces for many more kms to come. This is just a gem of a bike from Bajaj no matter what S**T others say Hats off to you man, really
Even I will be posting a travelogue soon

The junta here at Bangalore can testify how hard the bike is usually ridden and that is how its been ridden since the day I finished the 3rd service!

What ever part changes that are happening on my bike are due to than normal riding conditions usage!
