Jerking can be caused by lot of different things. What is PBK telling about this issue?

Do you have this problem on high speeds too?

Do you feel the jerk in between 2 and 4 rpm? Watch the RPM needle. I had this type of issue last year..finally I changed my fuel pump. Dont worry..go to PBK and get a keen check up,there may be chances of small issues too.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

        • Finally after long wait, injector has been replaced... Now the problem is , they cant adjust the idling rpm from diagnostic tool, it falls below 1000 when the bike is HOT(and eventually engine stalls) ! They say throttle body need to be replaced ... How far is this true ??

I took out idling screw and cleaned the carbon , and increased the rpm lil above 1100 , now bike dont stall ... but do i really need to replace the throttle body ? Or I should try to set idling rpm once again ??

          • Similar Problem. Bike doesnt go above 6000 rpm

Recently I have been facing a serious problem of my bike on going above 6000 rpm in any gear. As the bike reaches close to 6000 rpm the cylinders seems to sound as if it is running out of fuel.I Replaced the fuel pump costing Rs 3000. That didnt solve the problem. Replaced the clutch plates costing 1600Rs. That didnt solve the problem. Replaced the spark plug. Fixed NGK sparks each costing 550 Rs. each. That also didnt solve the problem. Replaced the spark plug wireset with Split Fire twin core costing Rs. 360. That also hasnt solved the problem. Now I feel the fuel injector needs to be replaced. All in all the bike doesnt seem to have a life beyond 20000 Km. What a waste of all the money. A note to add: all of the above solutions were suggested by trained experienced mechanics from Bajaj.

Q1: Why did you replace fuel pump? Was it malfunctioning?

Q2: Was this the first time you replaced spark plugs?

Q3: Spitfire cable is not required, why install that?

Q4: Have you replaced the fuel filter every 5K kms?

Q5: Have you replaced the air filter every 10K kms?

Q6: Which city are you based in?

PS: To your point about bike not having life beyond 20K kms, my 220 Fi has done 66K kms in the last 3 years... And yeah it still hits 144 Kmph on the Dyno and gives about 33-37 Kmpl! Its all a matter of where you service your bike and how well you maintain it.

A1. The fuel pump died down on my way to work. There was a fuel pump malfunction indicator. Had to get it replaced
A2. My bike has run 20000 KM. This is the third time that I am replacing the spark plug.
A3. Split Fire was not required but I thought they would be nice with the new NGK sparks.
A4. I have followed the service manual and had the fuel filter replaced every 5K but the air filter was replaced at 15000KM.

A5. I am based in Pune. Shirode has shut shop. BK Auto is helpful, but expensive. They dont seem to have much of FI experience. Sai Service is pathetic.

What I feel is that my bike's problem has been misdiagnosed by the authorised service center and as result I ended up replacing a lot of parts which was not necessary. Yet the problem has not been solved.

To different minds, the same world is a hell, and a heaven [WHERE SERVICE YOUR BIKE AND HOW WELL YOU MAINTAIN IT.] PAINFUL BUT TRUE....

Pune being Parent city for Pulsar , it is indeed shame tht we dont get proper service

Shirode has been shut down because of their glorious service ! Sai Service is not so different ... BK is good and their labor is less , but they dont have FI diagnostic tool ... So unless you hv got problem which can only be identified and solved using diagnostic tool , BK will serve you better ...
But make sure one thing , always be there with your bike while they service it and ensure they carry out all the things satisfactorily ...

God knows how they'll handle bigger Ninjas and KTM !!

                    • My bike is 1year 7 months old and it has clocked 13k kms till now. My bike's battery all of a sudden after continuous riding for about 200 kms got discharged and self starter dint work .. i started the bike using push start method and rode about 150 kms more after that... now when i returned back i gave my battery for charging ... after charging for good 8-9 hours i connected it back... everything worked perfectly but again all of a sudden the battery got discharged and self starter , horn , light dint work and battery icon started flashing again... i gave it for charging again .... this time for some 18 hours .. after reconnecting everything worked fine and i revved the engine ... and shut the bike down and after that it again started flashing battery icon and self starter dint respond along with the horns and light.

What is the average life of a battery of our bikes ?
How much does it costs ?
Since i did a tour of some 1500kms and the battery i doubt was ever maintained by service center people could be a reason for battery failure ?

                      I own a pulsar 220 F.
                      Please help... Thanks.

What / Where is BK?!?!?!? *Fed up of pathetic service at Sai Service* Seriously, The feel on the bike is the same if I get my bike serviced every 2.5k km or every 5-6k km. For the last 20k km.. I can hit the same 147kmph at the same spot on Katraj-Dehu Road bypass (currently 28.4k on the odo). Service or no service, tankbag or no tankbag, chain lubed or not, new FS oil or old used SS oil, does not matter. The bike hasn't felt like it has been serviced since I moved to Pune and started getting it done at Sai Service Kothrud. Does anybody have any experience with the Castrol Bike Zone? Are they any good?
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Even i do face similar problems in lesser rpms(<4k).. heavy struggle for breath, even it goes off when throttle is absent for more than a second.. changed the Air-filter, fuel filter and also checked & cleaned the fuel pump, Checked & Cleaned the petrol tank for water.. Spoke to pbk guys about this issue more than thrice.. but this appears again after 100 KMs of drive after the service.. tried different fuel station.. still in search of a solution..
