      • hey guys , its been a long time since my P220 FI gave me some troubles

Issue started with after washing @ local garage, It used to crank but wont start . Then mechanic removed spark plugs cleaned them , attached another battery as my battery was 3.5yr old and was low on charge . Still no luck ! then I tolld him to remove fuel filter and he blowed it wid compressed air , bike started again !
Now today morning when going to college , again it stalled in the middle of road . It gives jerks before stalling , and after tht it cracks but wont start . Thought of battery as culprit , hence gave it for charging for a day . In the evening way back to home installed it , and bike started without any fuss . After riding 3 kms it again stalled . Considering age of old battery(3.5 yrs) bought new Amaron for 1.7k and fixed it . Now bike ran well for 20 kms or so , and when i tried to cross 100 , it gave jerks , like fuel is not getting to the combustion chamber and it stalled. I tried dhakka start but it was not working. I had to push the bike for 5 kms and reached home .
One more thing i'm worried about is I have not changed the fuel filter from last 10k kms . If I install new one and still there is water inside the tank then what to do ?
Or is this the problem with roll over sensor ?

I need to start the bike to take it to service center which is 15 kms from home

            • hi all bhpians. one of my friends is willing to buy a second hand 220 fi. but it seems many are telling him that the fi is not reliable and stuff..... i clearly dont believe in these . there are so many satisfied fi owners out there. but the thing im really concerned about is the fi servicing. are all pro bikes equipped with mechanics who can service the fi system? if yes is it safe enough to go for 2008 model with 24k done on the odo. his getting a real sweet deal.

Bike is with Sai Service Pune since yesterday . Today when I went there , reason being told for not touching my bike is non-availability of FI Diagnostic tool !
Tomorrow again gonna check , and if they fail to get it working , I'm gonna shoot mail to Bajaj . How can the service center dont have proper tools ?

Will keep in mind about the magnet coil plate rotor , thanks buddy ...

10K kms on same fuel filter , change ur fuel filter ASAP!

Probiking is supposed to have a battery diagnostic tool which checks if there is enough charge in the battery or it needs a recharge. But since you already bought a new battery this is out of the question.

This seems to be an issue with the wiring.

                      • My bike's chain feels very tight in some points(Chain link lock portion spot on the back sprocket side) while I am rotating wheel by hand...It is my second sprocket and chain and there is lot space for chain adjustment. Once this was happened I just made a close watch and found the chain link lock portion coming on the back side of the sprocket feels more tight and I have changed the link lock and it was fine for a few days...then again this complaint is back. One local mechanic told me that all pulsars have the same chain complaint issue. I am maintaining my bike chain very well from dirt and lubricating in between 200kms.Expecting the reason for this Please........

                        • @ Praful, I only changed my fuel filter at 22k kms... I forgot to do it, and after my last service, I'm getting a mileage of 58kmpl... I used Bajaj dtsi 10000 oil... I usually drive very roughly.... I think I'm too lucky....

                          • 1. After the ride from Munnar, last weekend, there is some regular sound coming from the Sliencer assembly. The PBK guys told that whole Setup needs to be changed ( that means New Silencer what i came to know ). Although this can be claimed by Insurance, but my point is, is there anybody who can think of any other solution other than going for new one.

Its not 220, but just want you people to know from where the sound is coming.

                            2. Is there a possibility of putting Second disc brake on P220...(just wanna know).

Link for the thread wherein one FZ guy has put the second Disc Brake and a few modification :

Yeah , I guess they are no longer interested to provide service to Fi owners ... time to change the bike
I towed my bike using rope attached to P135 , for 18 kms

Yep Praful , I changed the fuel filter myself. Battey was pretty old , and after being charged overday , it was not able to hold the enough charge.

Hope its some minor issue ... Did I say it started for 2-3 times in neutral that day with accelerator pinned fully , and used to die out as soon as I change the gear or RPM dropped below 6k ...

Bike is still with Pbk and they are doing trial and error by fitting sensors from different Fi bike as parts are not available ...

Dont worry Abhi, It will be alright after the complete check up. The PBK guys are no longer interested fi because they are tied up with over work load. Our bike need a little more attention from a trained mechanic.Use your customer rights.. "A crying baby gets the milk soon". Dont think to sell it
