but need to check the tyre pressure every 200 kms , tyre pressure is decreasing very quickly , and i checked it in tyre care center , there are lot of stapler pins , small small pins , sticking with the tyre .
      Where were those pins from?

        • Rollover Sensor woes

Twice in 6 months my roll over sensor has failed. Result, the bike doesn't start.
Has anyone bypassed this problem by eliminating this stupid sensor all together ?
The pbk guys say its not possible and i will have to replace it. The thing is, i don't trust this sensor to work correctly in case of a fall.

Twice in 6 months indicates that there is something else going wrong here either during usage or service. Sensor usually don't go kaput that soon even with the legendary Bajaj quality

I doubt if you'd be able to bypass it because, the ECU would be doing a check everytime its booted up see if the sensor is ON state!

              • After searching lot of tyre shops and doing a lot of research through various forums, today I got my bike's tyres changed from Lalbaug road - JC road area (Madhu's Tyres). Got the stock up front (the new P220 F soft compound MRF 90/90x17" TL) and rear Michelin Sirac 120/90x17" TL. Will post pics tomorrow.

Costs: front Rs. 1300 and rear Rs. 2450 (inclusive of 50rs back per old tyre)

Initial observations: grip upfront has improved by far. The rear has become super heavy, pickup has gone down, roll on timings are longer. Speeds post 100kmph come up fast, cruising ability has improved thanks to the larger rear wheel. The seating position has become more forward stance-ed, and this made my wrists and bum ache badly in a 1 hour 30km afternoon city ride in Bangalore. The rear tyre just touches (almost less than a cm gap) the ground while on the centre stand.

Going for front fork oil and cone set change tomorrow early morning at AutoService PBK, hopefully everything goes well and I don't waste my Saturday at the SC. Hope to get everything wrapped up by 2pm .

                • Today i got the 7th paid servicing on my bike done.
                  problems were:

                  1) front fork oil leak.

                  2) steering cone set was long overdue.

                  3) fairing vibration

                  4) of late the starter started to act funny, one fine morning i went to my friend's village and on the way when i switched off the bike it made a loud thak sound from the starter motor and after that the self stopped working.as the PBK was very far i had to push start the bike the whole day and by the time i returned home it was late at night, so decided to go to the PBK the next day.next day when i pressed the starter the bike came alive in a single crank. i repeated it again and again but it was working fine .now for the past 1 month i was forced to live with this moody starter and now its the time to give it a thorough check.

                  after the service

                  1) both the fork oil and seal was changed

                  2) the steering cone is still out of stock ( Iam waiting for the past 3 months).when i enquired i was told that they have placed the order but the part is yet to come from bajaj. even the PBK's dont know why its taking so long. how's the supply of steering cone in PBK's of other cities ?? looks like i have to wait for some more time.

                  3) now the noise has come down drastically.

                  4) the problem was with the relay , and a few springs inside the magneto housing was broken, which was replaced. now its working fine.

                  5) both the front and rear brake pads were changed.

the bike is working fine except for that funny handling (bike sways from side to side in slightly uneven tarmac) which started after the cone set went kaput.the thak thak sound is gone for the moment but i know it will reappear soon.iam running on a bad cone set for the past 6k km, hope the part arrives soon in PBK.
total damage to the purse 1760.

                  • Running on a mixture of two engine oils.
CAstrol Gtx ( yes, car engine oil with 20w50 grade) 650ml

                    Castrol power 1 ( 15w40) 650 ml.

so thats like running on 17.5w45

bike response considerably increased.. very smooth till 7k rpm. engine doesnt heat as quickly as before when i was running on company recommended grade.
gear shifts happen as and when i want.no notchy problems.acceleration much better.or feels so.
no leaking of engine oil after rides from anywhere.
bike has 5700 on odo. 9months old. still lots more to go. well thats my update.
