Then its tuning problem even my dtsi has the same problem irregular throttle response between 1-2k rpms in 1st 2 gears after that every thing will be fine the pbk mech drained the carb and tuned now the problem is gone since urs is FI only tuning might be the issue cleaning the tank might also help occurs mostly beacause of bad petrol.Originally posted by Durvesh View PostYes Your rite. the Throttle response below 4000RPM is irregular.Last edited by truelypulsarian; 06-23-2011, 11:24 PM.PULSAR 180 DTSI- 2007

Also clean the fuel tank impure matter and water may accumulate in it these things can reduce jerks and missing prbs at lower rpms.Originally posted by Durvesh View PostOK.. i ll check it again the co setting they might be reduced co %.PULSAR 180 DTSI- 2007

Pulsar 220 DTS-FI Engine stalling
Hi
I own Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-FI from Oct.2007.
Clocked only 3900 KM.
Because of my transfer to differant district could not used bike for 1.5 year.
Recently I was facing so many problems with my bike.
1) Engine Stalling
2) Rough Acceleration
3) Gear shifting hard
4) faulty Rear Brake Caliper
5) Rusted Fuel Tank & fuel pump.
6) Weak Front Sturts
7) Hard Rear Sturts
So I had to bear heavy repair bill of Rs.15000/-
Changed Fuel Tank & Fuel Pump
Changed Rear Brake Caliper
Changed Throttle Body
Changed Front Sturt Springs & Rear Sturts
Changed Clutch Plates & Balalncer
Changed Stator Plate due to error of Crank Angle Sensor.
Other problems solved . But still my bike stalls.
Especially at cold start,if I put headlamp ON , Humming noise of Fuel pump becomes dull & after 10 Sec.fuel pump humming noise becomes just like it is running on Magneto Current only.
I know that on headlamp ON position humming noise of Fuel Pump can be changed.
But humming should be constatnt even on headlamp position ON . It should not vary. Am I Right ?
I mean at cold start if I put lamp ON,it feels that bike has no DC battery.& fuel pump is running on Magneto Current only.
Humming of fuel pump should be constant. But in my case fuel pump humming noise varies as per strokes of bike. & after 10 Sec.engine goes OFF.
I checked by replacing Battery & Capacitor also. But could not success.
As per PBK guys,Fuel pump of FI Pulsar can't run on Magneto. Battery should be powerfull.
So I measured Battery charging voltage. As per Training Notes of Pulsar
@4000 RPM Multi-Meter should indicate 14 Volt on Headlamp ON & OFF position.
In my bike
At Headlamp OFF position, charging voltege is below 14 V
At Headlamp ON position, charging voltege is 14 V.
As per Spare Part Catalogue of Pulsar 220 FI has 2 Regulators.
1) AC/DC Regulator - Part No. DJ201102
2) Voltege Regulator - Part No.DK201001
I found Voltege Regulator DK201001 below the seat which have Alluminium body.
But could not find DJ201102 AC/DC Regulator.
I have Spare Part Catalogue. In Catalogue Bajaj has displayed both Regulators.
But as per my info,Pulsar 220 FI has DC Ignition.
I think for 220 FI, Bajaj has shown AC/DC Regulator - Part No. DJ201102 by mistake.
I think problem is due to improper battery charging.
So DTS-FI may not have AC/DC Regulator.
Please help.Last edited by bhai; 06-26-2011, 11:42 PM.

Usage dependent. Cleaning+Lubing should be done every 500Kms, and correcting the slack should be done every 1000 Kms.Originally posted by sanjaysweden View Postchain cleaning to be done at how many kms?
The 220Fi has only 'DK' part number as far as I know. The RR unit under the seat is related to battery charging. Which month/year is your bike from?Originally posted by bhai View PostHi

The RR unit and a couple of other things were upgraded for the most of under warranty a couple of years back when the bike was new.
Don't go too much with the sound of the pump, after priming is the bike running fine or is it still jerking?
Motul 5100T then, or you are not able to source Motul at all? Spoke to Apar? He must know some places for 300V.Originally posted by yuv_biKING View PostFinding little tough to reach out Motul 300v.. got used to it for past 35k.. need suggestions on next best Engine oil for p220.. about 60% of my ride is at highways at higher RPMs (6k-8k)
Else the fully synth oil from Castol is also good from what people say, I somehow can't trust castrol. There's even the Valvoline Premium 4T, but that will last only 2.5K as its a Semi-synth!
Congrats dudeOriginally posted by ajinkya View Postmy 220 completed 4 yrs on saturday at 5 pm
