Before doing that, please check your fuel filter element and the fuel pump itself. This complaint was noticed on one Pune xBhpian's 220. It turned out to be bad fuel -> damage to fuel pump -> clogged fuel filter element -> erratic idle + engine cut off intermittently.Originally posted by Praful View PostNever argue with an idiot. NV, the idling is fine (1200 RPM) no prob with starting, and engine cuts off only in the lower revs, below 3K and sometimes during parking speeds. any way i have to check the fuel filter.Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostBefore doing that, please check your fuel filter element and the fuel pump itself. Sure bro.. Will update. It has still not reached my hands... On the way from Chennai.Originally posted by yuv_biKING View PostLet us know the feedback of new caliper after some 100 KMS of usage..
Yash bro, It costed just below Rs.1800 including the mount... My friend has brought it. Now , I have a feeling whether he had brought the old kbx itselfOriginally posted by yash3 View Postbro even i ordered the Bybre stuff here in coimbatore PBK
they quoted 2k for caliper
and 3 bushes for rs 150 !
.... Will know it tomorrow early morning. I'm also changing the disc plate. It was pretty worn out as I use it tremendously.. I got it from here itself and has Bybre written on it...
I have changed the oil cooler too to the new big one,, as Praful bhai said it had a better cooling efficiency than the old... It was a direct fit and costed just above 1k. I'm just thinking of Bybre now... or is it kbx that my friend brought..?? oh boy...
He said it had Bybre written on it, but he is good at telling lies...
By the way, I didn't knew there was a PBK at C'tore. Last time I came there for the front disc caliper and I couldnt find any at any dealership and atlast got it from B'lore PBK.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Looks neat.. so your friend can be trusted sometimesOriginally posted by Ivin View PostMission completed . Now changed the rear disc to Bybre. According to me, after using kbx for years, this definitely is something new. I will update the response of the brake after some 100kms...

New tyres for my 220
Hi all,
I need my 3rd set of tyres for my p220.I've been running the current ones(Sirac + FZ's Zapper FX) for some 18k kms now.
The Sirac seems to have some life left in it(Whats the usual amt of kms it lasts? ),but the front is gone.
I though I'll get through the rains with it but after almost not being able to stop behind a Corolla in the mornin inspite of best efforts,I think its time i switched.
Anyway,I like mild touring, but cornering interests me more, hence the choice of the FZ front despite disadvantages(as mentioned by Praful).
What choice do i have for the front? How is the IRC Wildfire?(availability in Pune??) any other choices? or should I buy the same ones again?
And just out of curiosity? Any new interesting choices for rear tyres?
Thanks in advance.

Stick to the stock, or Nylogrip Zapper - S 100/70/17 is a good choice. Its just my opinionOriginally posted by forcooler View PostHi all,

Every tyres has their own pros and cons. Out of all I still feel Sirac is the best for the rear.Originally posted by forcooler View PostHi all,

But, If you really like cornering, I would recommend you to use Pirelli Sports Demon(which currently I am using for both front and rear). It really sticks to the road like a leech. But one of cons is that after, say some 12-14K Km when the thread is not like the new ones, you will tend to lose the grip in the RAINS. I have not felt it as of now, and will certainly give the review about it when i encounter this..
1. Get your throttle wire thoroughly checked. If it solves the problem, well and good, otherwise go for a throttle body overhauling..But it all depends how does the service engineer does the work. Throttle body overhauling is not that easy. :POriginally posted by lightgun View Posti own a 2008 pulsar220 dts-fi and i have issues with it...

2. Better to change the clutch plates. it may have been worn out. If not changing the whole plates, change at least the pressure plates.
Also check if your chain sprocket Assembly is good enough.I dont know if you have changed it or not. Also check the basic things like choked AirFilter, Clogged Fuel Filter, etc etc.

The Sirac has served me well, but I'm just wondering if a different brand of tyres will give a different experience(like the Sirac did
).For eg. do the Pirelli's add flickability to the bike compared to the stocks? and what about braking?
Whats the profile of the Pirelli's and approximate cost ?Anyway 12-14kms will get me just past next years rains i think. So as long as in the dry they're fine,I think i can can run them to about 18k.

For the first 100-200 KM you will feel the handling a bit hard, but after the tyre is set perfectly to the rim, you will just love it. The Acceleration will increase quite a bit. But the Top End will reduce.
The Braking is fine. You can blindly believe Pirelli..
REAR - 130/70/17 - Price: 3500
FRONT - 100/80/17 - Price: 2500
( Now, there is 10% increase in the import duty of the tyres, so i dont know what will be the price as of now..)
Below is the picture of the same.Last edited by mav1234; 07-21-2011, 12:16 PM.

Clutch Plate wearing
Hi guyz......my carb 220 has clocked 34k+. I wanted to understand whether a clutch plate can withstand that much. I normally ride between 60-90, sparsely around 100-120 and very rarely at 125+.
The acceleration seems to have dropped than what used to be & bike seems sluggish when with pillion
......but not sure whether its the general wear and tear or my clutch plate has gone kaput
.
Any pointers on how to judge the clutch plate wear?

My first clutch plate did 45k km and it was still good for a few thousand more.Originally posted by abhee View PostHi guyz......my carb 220 has clocked 34k+. When the acceleration drop is unacceptable or you are going on a long ride to the hills - its time to change it.
