^^ Oh no no .. The tyre is good on the FZ. Not meant for the 220.

The rim width is much more on the FZ, so the profile formed is nice. On the 220 it forms a bit too aggressive '\/' profile!

Stick to MRF , you wont have that problem, right now, the best option.
Each different person has different opinion about Pirellies, Dunlops,Ceat's and all other brands.

Ah, thats what i was looking for. In the FZ the rubber was sticking so well, i tried only after putting some 500kms on the odo, tyres too need break in right.

Ha ha..Nice skating.. Imagine doing that all alone. Heights of my stupidity, did a similar one alone ended in disaster. Uphill was dry like this and it rained before I started coming down and did multiple falls and skating..

I did do something similar alone last monsoons .. Infact thanks to the FZ front tyres I almost skidded off the cliff

I am in due for the rear tyre change. Do we have any better option than Vyde since sirac is unavailable..?

Still looking for options to beat the Sirac. I have one last Sirac left with me, hopefully that should be the last tyre I ever change on the bike

Hi guys, I'm facing a problem.

History:

The bike completed 15000 kms and then my bro met with an accident. Bike was scarcely used for 1 year. When I got transferred I got the bike serviced at 16600 kms. Took it to Krishna Bajaj in Gurgaon where my bro used to take it. They charged around 2000 bucks saying Starter motor needs change, engine gasket needs change (small metallic parts inside the are where Pulsar DTSi is written) etc. They also forced me to get engine decarbonised (Charged 400 bucks for that!!) as the initial inspection guy had written DC on the job sheet. After the service when I realised that I actually don't need to get the decarbonising thing done, they said bill has been produced and now it can not be changed. The decarbonising has to be done.

The Problem:

Anyway, I rode it till 19000 kms and then took it to Agra trip recently. Never rode above 110 kmph. Came back and next day I saw engine oil light blinking. Checked and couldn't see oil in the window. Tilted the bike by a bit and finally saw black liquid.

Temporary solution:
I had heard the dangers of engine getting seized. I had an opened can of cheapest 20w40 engine oil by BP (used it for the chain). I poured around 600ml this morning until the level was fine. Went to Green park shop to get Motul SS 5100 15w50 as I planned to get it serviced tomorrow.

The shock:
The mechanic came my way and asked if anything needed to be done. I told him just like that how Bajaj engine oil could go away in 4000 kms? They promise life for 10000 kms!! He checked and said bike is giving black smoke. I said I don't think so and lovingly throttled till 5k rpm for few seconds with my palm at the exhaust. Nothing!
He came and throttled it wildly and his whole palm was black!! He said piston needs some change.

The dilemma:
I have heard that engine work is quite costly. I gave the history as I'm reluctant to go to Gurgaon all the way and get treated as the way I was last time. But the Probiking guys there are just great I feel. Patient and skilled without doubt. And I don't trust these mechanics as such. I live in Malviya Nagar in Delhi. Green park is very close. And atleast this guy looked efficient and pointed out the problem as a matter of fact.
He said if you will take it to company they will blindly put new parts costing me 10k to 12k. He said he would resize the bore or something from 0 to 50 size. It will be bigger. I'm not sure what to do. Please help as I have only tomorrow to get things done.

The bike needs a lot of other things like new chain sprocket, front tyre, horn doesn't work, and I plan to take gud care. But seeing piston loosing life after 20000 kms, suddenly it has shattered the confidence.

Please suggest what I can do. SVC or this guy? Please help.

i am a proud owner of pulsar 220, which is just 11 months old (6600KM).

I am facing some problems with rear suspension and brakes.
1) Rear suspension is soft, i can feel shock on every pot hole. is there any way to adjust it. Its in 5th part of setting.
2) Rear break makes sound like 'TAK' when i press it. also some noise from rear disk. not sure from where its coming.
3) there are some vibrations near front faring and some sound is coming at every pothole. mechanic said it may be because of loose fuel tank screw.

please guide me,

Wrong thread, head for 220 dtsi thread.

1. Yup you can adjust rear shock to make it harder, but handling can get very finnicky then.
2. Check brake pads, can be the reason for funny sounds.
3. Fairing sound can be eliminated with the help of double sided tape and putting a rubber clip in between the console and the metal frame.

Finally got the rear Tyre changed Michelin Sirac...

Whats the manufacturing date for the tyre?

How much did you pay for it? And how the hell did you find one?

I think I bought the last one in Bangalore!

Praful i got this tyre in very less price 3k only but manufacturing date is 2010 but Im Happy with the Performance. in Mumbai there was few Michelin dealer's had the Sirac but its overpriced, then after long serching i got one Michelin dealer had 3 last Tyre i got from there.

Aww crap. All over India its the 2010 model only Its nothing like the 2009 Sirac

Got back the bike this Sunday after the bike was in the SVC centre for almost 3 months (Had the bike in between for 2 weeks for testing). There were 59 entries in the 5 page bill.

One major issue (and the first) and its all falling like dominoes ...

For the first time in almost 5 years (1 month short of completing 5 years) I can say I am frustrated and tired of being friends with my mechanic.

I am not selling the 220, but I just don't feel like riding it anymore.
