      • Nostalgic pics there for you, Praful. I am also going through a similar phase. Mine has clocked 73000Kms. Lately facing some misfiring issues but still in love with my bike. Hope you are keeping your Red Devil with you forever.

Any particular reasons for not shifting to 300v other than the Mineral run-in?

          Good boy.
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Well to be honest I didn't have any other pic with the bike on that trip

When I changed the bore-piston kit I did running in with 300V

If you can get the Motul mineral oil then great, coz every other mineral is about the same amount of crappy or good as the other oil.

If I was riding at the usual pace that I was riding, I would have been at 1.2L kms by now

Yes I am keeping it till I can, there is no point in selling it. No one will buy my bike, all one needs to do is google me.. and with the places the bike has seen I'd have pay people money to take the bike

I have No much details to tell you why, but per gyans I received synthetic oils should be used once the engine is well-set. Moreover I wanted to flush out the engine oil as soon as possible because I do not want to run with the scrapped metal particals for long, so wanted to stick with the mineral oils for sometime.

Thanks, Yuvi. But have you experienced any difference from the 5100 and the 300V? Any significant differences, apart from the Mineral run in? This question has been lambasted, but stil. Did you experience any leakage associated with the 300v?

                Cheers!

                • Time to revive the dead thread a bit

Last Wednesday, went to Chandigarh on bike with my wife to attend a wedding reception. Now, had the option of going by the bus with other wedding party goers but me being me, chose to ride (well, Test ride) on the Highway after facing some issues previously due to unsatisfactory service. Got my bike serviced last month from Suman Bajaj, Noida. The GT Road highway is always a pleasure to ride on. Others may disagree but to me, it's one the good roads where you can really test the ability of your bike's performance over a longer period. 220 performed quite well unexpectedly (expectedly as I knew from my heart that this horse will not put me into a dark situation). Return journey was quite good too. I did more speeds in the range of 100-110 most after entering Haryana. I consider this to be quite good considering the fact that I almost weigh around 83 Kilos (minus the Jackets & boots), my wife around 60 Kilos & saddle bags which would easily weight around 10 kilos! Most of the time, I was the one who was overtaking every other vehicle except few cars (Audi & Chevy Cruiser).
So, yes, once again happy with the performance. The only downside of riding the bike so hard is I got FE of 19.XXX KPL only. :P But I am not complaining as if I had ridden at 85-90 KPH for 70% of the part of the trip, I may have got better FE.

Oh! About the braking.... Man... Bybre does make it REAL safe!!!

I changed the oil to Motul 5100 after using the 300v for alomst 40K KMs, I did not notice much difference in between 300V vs 5100. By consiousness I have kept the drain interval less on the 5100 than the 300V.

Recently got my bore kit changed and the first 700 KMs was with the oil from chennain pbk, I felt the bike to be butter smooth and gear shiftings were like blade on the ice.
Got the oil changed to 5100 its still smooth but not as smooth as the first 700 KMs..

Replaced the front Piston caliper kit to Bybre, new Bybre is better than the 4 yrs old KBX after few 100 KMs the brakes have set very effective..
