    • ^Now, after reading this.. Most of us would rush to PBK and bug them Clean the throttle Body.. Clean the throttle Body!!!

FYI: I don't remember chennai pbk cleaning the throttle body during my every 10K kit service...
If this is the service interval somebody has to teach/advise them to carry this cleaning irrespective of the customer advice to clean it during their 10K kit service.. but that is going to be next to impossible.

Mr.Praful: I would appreciate if you can post few of those service interval checklist that you carried and the reference link in the first page.. Most of the FI owners would have already lost their handbooks by now

      • PBK Refuses to clean throttle body , since apparently BAL has told them not to touch the TB.

        I mean WTF!

My bike first had the TB cleaning at 10K @ Chennai PBK ... and the bike was flying!!!

Very strange! I think placing the throttle body must be a specialized job... I wasn't present during the cleaning or else I would have written the exact process.

          • gear shift problem at high rpm

Hi guys my fi has been problems with gear shifting at revs above 8k. The shifter fails to slot a gear .
Clutch plates are 4k kms old .. in general gear shifting is not smooth since the time I m running on new chain sprockets.
            Anyone faced such issue ?

I have. On the DTSi. But is mostly happens when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Not in other gears.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Same here .. not sure where is the problem .
Checked few other forums all pointing to play in clutch lever . But play is also fine as per specification .

And then you dragged with the new R15 leading 2 bikes distance on ECR
I wish you had superhuman brain to tell me who did the cleaning

You don't have to type all, but those vital few that most of us would miss. 15 mins of your time is all we need.

                  • You can clean throttle body by yourself too ! its DIY job if you know how to remove seat n tank

In my case, bike used to shut off at lower revs when the engine used to get hot ... PBK guys told me that my throttle body is gone bad and I need to replace it ! So just an desperate attempt to save ~1.6k I cleaned it at home & the problem disappeared... I also increased idling a bit though by rotating the screw on throttle body, say maybe by 100rpm ... (PS: remove the screw fully and clean the carbon deposits from the screw hole too)

Seems like a common issue! Even I faced this & to an extent has been rectified. Again, to an extent. I forgot what the PBK Guys did. Will let you know.

Abhifusion: That's a good info there. I wasn't present when they took out the throttle body & cleaned it. I must say, Okhla PBK is wonderful. They got a new throttle body from Karol Bagh PBK because they too suspected that it have gone bad but they said that they will try after cleaning & even if then the response was bad, they will have to replace. Very satisfied with PBK Okhla.

                      • The other day I asked my Dad if he could buy me a Pulsar 220. He said that he wouldn't buying a Pulsar because of the following issues
                        1) The engine is rough.
                        2) The build quality is not good and you will see your bikes pieces falling apart in a year or so.
                        3) The braking is not good and is not smooth also. You get jerks while braking.
                        4) The seating position is not comfortable for my height. (height=5'6")
How true is that? Please guys... Reply asap because I'm dying to ride 'my own bike'. Have to select. One fast between P220, FZ-S and Apache.

If that would be a reason, there won't be any pulsar of more than 1 year old! Obviously u can't compare engine smoothness with a Yamaha. A good engine oil, timely replacement of holder bushings and all will give u a "pulsar smooth" engine. Although sitting position might be a issue, but over the other bikes u mentioned, u'll get better horses and torque, better top end, projectors, semi fairing, easy availability of spares and a good resale value.

Trust me bro, if you take care of the bike, the pulsar wont give any problems, as of today i completed 50,000 kms on my bike in just over 2 years. And its still very very smooth.
The plastic quality may be a little off at the side panels, but that doesnt matter much, god forbid if something is damaged, the spares are dead cheap. so no worries on that front too.

                                .
some tinkering around with the clutch cable has brought the glory back into the gear shifting. Gears are slotting perfectly now , However had to make the clutch little loose than the spec. play. It doesnt hurt to ride with a little loose clutch and good gear shifts.. does it ??
And I am getting my 200ns this coming week. Keeping 220 too. May be a cafe-racer 220 is going to be a reality soon...
