I am currently using the Castrol 10w50 that you have mentioned. I have done about 4k kms on it so far and its got a lot of life remaining in it. Its a good oil but can't compare it with Motul.

AFAIK the only difference between the two is that 7100 is single ester and 300v is double ester. For our 220s I think 7100 is more than sufficient.Originally posted by leodj29 View Post

Even though I'm sure it has been addressed before in this thread I find it a bit difficult to navigate through the whole 696 pages searching for it so here it is:
I'm thinking of switching to fully synthetic oil for my machine and was wondering if the Motul 300V is twice as good as the Motul 7100 as it is twice as expensive (at least in my city)Originally posted by The Monk View PostAFAIK the only difference between the two is that 7100 is single ester and 300v is double ester. If you know your whiskey's then :-
5100 - Bourbon
7100 - Fine Scotch
300V - Single Malt
I am sorry I can't think of a better explanation...
My bike after years of running on 5100 (30K kms) and 300V (50K Kms) down right rejected 7100. I really did not like the feel of the oil and honestly will prefer 5100 over 7100 since 5100 gives an almost 300V'ish feel.
As The Monk rightly mentioned 7100 is single ester, compared to 300V/5100T which are double ester. The double ester oils tend to leak a little from here and there. But not so much that you will start loosing drastic amounts of oil.
Drain interval on the 7100 is identical to 5100. 300V is not justified for the price its retailing for these days, but then most of the good things in life aren't really 'VFM' (read: Single Malt
) Especially more so for me since I have been using 300V since the days it used to cost 550/- bux a bottle!

Well, thanks to everyone for your insights on the Motul oils, I'll have that in mind and since I use the 5100 will try the 7100 to compare them and then will try 300V to finally choose one of the three to stay with.
PS: sorry but I just realised i posted the query on the DTSFi thread and my bike is the DTSI, still I think the same arguments exposed here apply in this case right?

If you're query is answered, then it doesn't matter where you've put your questions. You can rest your case.Originally posted by leodj29 View Post....but I just realised i posted the query on the DTSFi thread and my bike is the DTSI, still I think the same arguments exposed here apply in this case right?

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I also own Pulsar 220 and got my CO settings done from SAI Service Bajaj, Borivali. You can try there. But before that you must raise this issue with Baha'I. Send a mail on this email address [email protected].

This is really absurd. You must complain to Customer Service. These days, they have become really unresponsive. I must have written 4 mails but I am still to get a reply from them.Originally posted by Dreamwalker987 View Postseriously i am disappoint and angry on Bajaj!!! yesterday i took my bike to pro biking service center @ thane for co setting bcz there is no service center in Navi Mumbai....CO setting device was not available...i asked the reason why isn't it available.. the guys says pulsar 220 FI is outdated!!!..i was like WTF.

But at my place, New Delhi, there is no such problem & the PBK still has the CO setting device

Hi all,
This is my first post here on xbhp and am glad to be a member of such a awesome bike community where everyone is a bike enthusiast.
i own a Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi and it has clocked over 16100 Kms.
lately it is giving me various issues such as
* i have tried to check the bike's top speed on NH4 and it really didn't go past 120 kmph (@ 9000 RPM)
* No good pick-up and usually can't go above 40 on third gear (RPM usually clocks higher and feels like the engine is trying hard to go above)
* giving a bad FE of 30 kmph
* i have universal K&N filter since last 5K kms shall i change it?
i have been using motul 300W oil since last 5000 Kms and the last change was done on 500 kms before...
please help me out as to why the bike is underperforming ?

Worn out Clutch plates could be one of the reasons for the above.. 16K is not too early cos my second one got worn out at 4K KMS...Originally posted by raul007 View PostHi all,

K&N is absolutely not advisable for an Fi. Get the clutch plates checks, as Yuvi said & remove the K&N"HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic
