That said, congrats on your new partner, but personally would have suggested to wait for some time towards the end of 2012 for some cool launches. Anyways, people differ, tastes differ. All the very best, and do post a teaser shot of your new tri colored "partner in crime" HERE once you get delivery of her. All the best in munching on miles.

Thanks brother. I am looking for a tourer plus sports bike..finally just reached this choice..Ninja or R15 not suitable for me as a family guy( with wife and child). I own a bullet years back...due to regular service issues I sold that too. At present I think CBR meets both qualities. Can't wait... my age is going up
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

Cmon man..!! From countless personal experience i'm telling you. Solo is best, the thing with group rides is, you plan the whole trip and get ready and last minute there will be drop outs, i hate that. Some times even i had to drop out on others, so i know how bad it feels, my last trip was about 7-8 months back, imagine my grief.
Solo is the best, for some strange reason, i guess thats a fact. Ask any tourer, he will tell you, solo= best.

Cheta, your passion is much greater than most of the "younger" riders around..!! I talk about you, and your passion to my parents when they say that my motorcycle madness is just too much.

Exactly. The best solo ever was I did from Azhapuzha to Ooty, after a group ride going and solo when coming back, best experience ever in my life I've ever had. Trust me, solo is the best ever you'll come close to talking with your bike, literally and feel her all the way.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          THE END

                  • It may be quite late but still posting. I got Bybre Brake calipers (Front & Rear) installed. To be clearer, I have P220 Fi model which had KBX calipers.
There has been a HUGE difference in terms of braking & I seriously mean that. Earlier, the rear disc was just a show off with 95% braking being done by front but now even rear disc is highly effective.
An advice to all 220 Fi owners. Get the brake calipers replaced.

Mine is DTS-i , the carb version, mine is KBX too, so the rear brake is really better huh., What about the front brakes, i already have great front brakes.
What changes is there in front brake performance ?
Also do share the cost of calipers both front and back

I think Ivin Outlawz changed his rear brake caliper along with teh disc and it costed him some 4 to 5k if I am not wrong. I've been having the KBX version of both front and back. I don't see any problem in braking till today.

Once my brake cylinders needed some bleeding, it was stiff and unresponsive after fluid change and new calipers. Just a week after it was back to normal.

I'm sure you're rear brake had issues in that case, because I've ridden my bike and a Bybre 220 back to back, undoubtedly it is better but not by a huge margin. The biggest advantage was it being more progressive.

But I must mention that since the time I have bought the bike, I have not had any squealing issues or too much bite or the lack of it kind of issues and my rear brake pads usually last about 25+K.

Rear caliper costed me around 1.8k including the mount(1.5 years ago). As yours is dts-i which came with steel braided lines in the front, I dont think there is a need to change it. Change the back one.

The rear with kbx was actually poor. But not to mention, the Bybre was not that great, but better than kbx. And for Dts-fi users, I think, for the front, just replacing the lines to steel braided one doesnt make much of a difference, but changing the whole unit will be one hell of a difference. Too powerful to be exact. And changing both of them to brand new would cost close to 5k.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

                              • ^^ I agree with the steel braided hose for the front bit, I've changed over to the steel braided hose about 2.5 years back and the braking is spot ON after that

Now I'm looking at the KTM's rear steel braided line if its a fit
