done!!Originally posted by Praful View Post55W H7 is what you need to put in.
thanks a lot
and recently my 220 is not going above 115!! what may be the problem?? clutchplates???they seem fine to me!!...and one more query....does removing the snorkel type cap underneath the seat effect top speed?..and will fuel air ratio adjust automatically due to being an fi? because i removed it once
and i really liked the sound:P but was having lot of misfires!!

Worn out clutch plates, tyres, clogged filters, bad fuel quality, old spark plugs, worn chain sprocket, worn bearings anything could be the cause!Originally posted by Roystandbz View Postdone!!

Removing the snorkel should not affect your topspeed, but if you are having misfires then definitely there is an issue.
Its FI, but the AFR does not get auto corrected as its a open loop system. There is a little correction that happens, but unlike a closed loop system it will never have a constant correct AFR.Last edited by Praful; 08-09-2012, 01:05 PM._________________________

Totally agree... after going through the ownership of a 220 Fi, it now makes me understand that it's just not clutch plates but other factors too which significantly affects the performance.Originally posted by Praful View PostWorn out clutch plates, tyres, clogged filters, bad fuel quality, old spark plugs anything could be the cause!

A recent example: My handle used to wobble at lower speed. I had gone to a Alloy repairing shop to even out any minor bends. Didn't help much. Now, changed my front tyre & the problem is gone!!!
Note: Speed is also hampered by clogged motion of wheels. Bearings, disc & calipers must be checked."HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

Hey Praful & Others,
220 Fi is open looped system & Duke has got closed loop system. Duke will perform better in high altitude since the AFR will correct itself to the set standard.
My question is that 220 Fi open loop still performs better than any carb bike at higher altitude? How when both the bike would require manual intervention in tuning the AFR?"HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

Yabbbaaa, all these discussions were done in great details 4-5 years backOriginally posted by rx100.7050 View PostHey Praful & Others,

I don't know if duke has got a closed loop system?
220 Fi manages to do a "minor" amount of correction as mentioned in my previous post. This minor correction comes from the Airflow sensor, Knock sensor and one more sensor which my memory is failing me now. That is why it performs better than most other carb'd bikes, also the Dts-i Pulsars have lesser high altitude sickness in comparison to single spark plug bikes. So its double advantage for the 220Fi
Though this is very minor amount of correction in comparison to what a proper 02 sensor at the exhaust can provide._________________________

Indeed.. I spent a lot of money with pbk for Fork overhauling, cone set replacement etc etc for this wobling issue. Serviced the forks for 3 consecutive service, luckily A local mechanic during a chain cleaning discussion pointed me the reason should be bald front tyre. After replacing the front tyre issue is completly gone!. Our Pro-biking specialists doesn't even has time to think out of box, even after visiting them for the same issue 3 times. that I have to spend a lot to learn this lesson.

the tyre both of them and bearings were replaced a month back and sprocket along with spark plugs were changed 5k kms back...so im dropping those..so clutch plates might be the issue ! will have a visit to probiking..and should i also mention about the misfiring after removing the snorkel cap too?? and also maybe check the AFR??? and what may be the price of clutchplates??(never changed them so far:P
) and budget issues too being a student!!

crossed 40k mark on my odo today......had service last week got oil and fuel filter changed........oil replacement done with motul 5100............and after 7 days of riding my bike is full of dirt
thanks to monsoon......but still p220fi continues to amaze me everyday......had a little challenge from r15 today.......he was a bit quick on corners but on straights i gobbled him up
......also his braking was not upto mark

IIRC, clutch plates are around 1K.Originally posted by Roystandbz View Post

Any possibility of water in your tank? That can also cause the mis-firing.
If have to snorkel, just put it back to confirm if that's the cause. But yea its a good idea to keep the snorkel on, especially in the monsoon months!_________________________
