This is news to me.. need to check with the spares department. Touchwood I have not changed mine for the last 1.5 year, coz I've hardly ridden in the past 1.5 years

You could claim it under insurance if could have an accident!

              • Guys, does Bajaj engine oil gets too hot??? My P220 is 2months old and did 3100 kms. Time for second free service is also coming fast. Engine gets really hot while idling in traffic even for 2 mins even can feel the heat till my thighs. I use Shell 2T oil and engine oil for my Yamaha RX-135. So seeking your advice and comments whether I should change to Shell oil or stick to Bajaj oil.

                • ^^ Getting hot is normal. But change your engine oil, Bajaj engine oil is not really good. Shell is good, you could try Valvoline or Motul even.

                  • Just to update, I have the following stuff running from the 220 Dts-i because its a direct fit and its better than what we (Fi) have :-

                    1. Clutch Cable
                    2. Streel braided brake hose
                    3. Crash Guard
                    4. Rear Nox Suspension
                    5. Graphite coated bore-piston kit <now available for 220 Fi as well>
                    6. Larger Oil cooler

Other parts you can add :-
                    1. Chain Sprocket - Will make your bike taller geared, I have not done this as I am already running the Sirac.
                    2. Bybre Rear Disc Set - I have not done this as I am used to the braking of the rear and dont feel the need for more braking power.
                    3. Brake fluid Reservoir - The Dts-i has a transparent window, while we have a translucent white plastic which does not show the level properly. I have not changed this as mine is not broken

Thing that have not been verified for 'fit' :-
                    1. Clutch plates - The dts-i is said to have better quality ones with a few changes here and there.

Can you post a pic of the larger oil cooler and the rear new caliper... I really want to change those.... Whats the cost of Oil Cooler and does the old pipe(the one connecting the cooler and engine) suits the new cooler or do we have to buy the full set...???

the oil cooler of the DTS-i is rs 1100 i think !

no idea on the rear caliper !

                        • Check out the DTS-i's oil cooler, I don't have a pic of it on my bike. Its 33% larger than the Fi's! I have just changed the radiator, the pipes are the older ones I think. Costs about 1K!

No pics of the rear disc caliper as well because I am on stock only!

Any specific reason for changing the radiator?
Has the cooling effficiency improved? How?

Can we just change the Brake hose to steel braided ones or the whole setup has top be changed? How much does it costs?

                            • 1. I cannot quantify the gains of cooling efficiency as I have no way to actually measuring it. Due to the larger surface area the oil will cool faster that is all.

                              2. You can change just the brake hose, costs some 1K for the hose!

                                1. Well i guess it can be checked in extreme summers...if you are aware how much the bike heats up generally in summers..you can easily compare.
In your case i would just say rip on some highway n check
Honestly i think this upgrade wasnt necessary at all..

                                2. Oouch..1K for just the hose..too damn expensive..i thought it to be around 300-400
