May be, one of the ignition coil is Kaput. Is the bike misfiring or any sort of abnormal behaviour after starting??

      • Check if any of the sparkplug wires is disconnected.

Check if there is something in front of the Airbox snorkel under the seat.

Check if horn sounds proper without the engine running.

The possibility of the carb being choked is also an possibility.

Where in Mumbai are you? When did you shift? Ab mera IRC kaun bhejega Delhi se ?

You can visit one of the PBK's in Mumbai alongwith an Mumbai xMan, someone who is familiar with the mechs of PBK should be able to help you out.

I think that is one of the coils gone, it happened to me too ONCE! The fault was in one of the coils, I did'nt remembered name. In your case, it seems that the IGNition COil is faulty.

          • Hi, Just bought a 2008 P220 DTS-FI, 24,079 Kms Done, I didn't get the manual with it, the owner lost it. Can somebody upload or give me a link to the manual.

also need to know what are the things that need to be replaced after a bike has done this many kms (assuming the worse), will get that checked by the service center guys in the morning.

Where can i find a dealer that keeps the original tires of the P220 FI, i searched around a lot but couldn't find any good dealer that keeps these tubeless tires.
P.s. I am in Mumbai near Andheri so any location between Andheri - Borivali will do.

My shifts are 60% clutchless,(no prob, unless u shift without cutting the throttle) & RPM range for shifting depends on ur riding style

I too have purchased a 2007 model for 50,000Rs and it has done only 10,000kms. AFAIK, for a 20,000+ clocked any vehicle, below things should be checked:

                  1) Chain & sprockets
                  2) Brake Pads
                  3) Cone set\Stem bearing
                  4) Wheel bearings
                  5) Air filter (if not changed at 20K kms)
                  6) Fuel filter
                  7) Spark Plugs (10K kms interval for change)

Rest of the things that are 'FI' specific can only be told by experienced riders, who are using it from the day of purchase.

P.S: How much did you paid for the bike?

I paid 48K for the bike its 2008 model. Done around 24k Kms. I sent it for servicing to the bajaj Service center in andheri, they changed all those things except for Chain & Sprocket (I told them not to) as i'd be changing them after this rainy season has passed.

I am looking for the Original MRF Tyres But unable to find them anywhere near by will be going town side on saturday to see if i find there. Here the price is very Rs.2900 for the rear 120-70/17 & Rs. 1300/- for the front.

It means the bike is running with right air fuel mixture.. neither lean nor rich.. it should be between 2.5 to 3.. changing CO in FI can lead to various changes like in power, mileage etc..

                          I hope this helps..

Thanks. BTW, How would one know if there is a need of CO adjusting in his bike.

Generally if you feel loss in power.. or your bike is not giving expected mileage.. sometimes if you change grade of petrol it changes.. i normally get it checked whenever i go for servicing.. they charge me Rs 10 for it..

CO has never been adjusted in my bike, till now, from the date of purchase. Will it be fine if I maintain it as it is (Company Stock) or I should get it checked, just for the sake of precaution. The bike gives me 35-40kmpl in city.
