i thought the existing speedo error was corrected in white ones... i would retest it with a few other bikes running parallel with me and compare the speeds with theirs..

but if the speedo error is really that large, then it should also show incorrect (unacceptable) top end figures.. i get 138 (maximum on flat road) on speedo at over 9.5k rpm..
on a downslope i clocked 141 kmph and when the road again became flat the speed changed to 137.. it goes to 137 quite easily but struggles a lot to go to 138...

also, speedo error can be contributed to worn out front tyre.. but my tyre is fine.. its run 12.5k and should last 7-8k more easily...
if there is so much of speedo then the speed should not be proportional with the engine rpm..
iam not saying that i have no speedo error... this is just my verdict..

Nope the older black back ones had a 2% error post 100 kmph.

Why else do you think the newer white back ones hit 130 or even 140 with ease ?

When you said you were doing 141, I was right behind you&we moved level for the next 300-400 metres. At that time my bike's speedo never showed me beyond 139!

There are many variables regarding this.

Newer bikes (the ones with white odo) supposedly have speedo error. It could be a reason.
Wind direction at the point of top speed matters.
The 220 performs differently especially regarding top speed in different places. When I am in Bangalore, without crouching I can hit 125 then it stops. I registered 134 on the same bike without crouching on the way to Chennai early morning few months back. So it depends.
Best is to test out two bikes (black speedo and white speedo)running parallel. Or use a GPS for both the bikes.

yes there are many variables involved..
when me and sarvajit were ripping, we had tailwind and downslope to support us .. here in hyd i can do 135 without crouching.. but the speed never crosses 137 and 138 very very rarely... now that is an acceptable figure on flat roads.. since i havent been to higher altitude places on my bike, i cant comment on the speed's over there...
even if we compare a black and white one running parallel, the figures will vary depending on the environmental conditions and the bike's condition..
GPS figures will also vary for the same bike to some extent depending on the conditions..
also the weight of the rider should be considered. i weigh just 65 kgs..

                    Old Tyre - 19625
                    New Tyre - 19628

This info was posted by someone in this thread (or some other thread).
If possible confirm the code with new owners before buying.

bibhu bhai my bike has an rpm of 1250...doesnt shudder...firstly what kinda fuel u using ? adulterated ones will have minute particles.... u say ur bike shudders or gives haath after 1 hour of riding or something right ? when ur riding repetitive shaking of petrol in tank will wake up rust or settled dirt particles... check for tank rust ... check injectors for clogs...throttle body... including relays and minor glitches in electrical systems...might help....

                          • Hey guys, I had a query, I think my headlamp is turned a bit towards the left. Is there any way it can be adjusted to the center or will i have to take it to PBK (yet again!).

                            P.S.: I have P220 DTSi.

@Mods: I had asked you people earlier what was the need for separate P220 DTSi thread when RTR 160/Fi have the same thread and such queries (like above) will be answered much more efficiently/quickly in this thread instead of DTSi thread.
