Took delivery of my new P 220 DTS Fi, booked it at PBK Hyderabad, and took delivery after 20 days as the Fi version is no longer available readily in the showrooms.

• Hi there
Just noticed a slight lag in power delivery while giving
the bike a full throttle.....Its all ok at low ok after a few
seconds but wanted to know the reason
Any Ideas???
Will be giving my bike for its final free servicing
Thats the reason am asking what to tell the mechanic
to look into ?

@140 Kmph speed claims: The with black back speedos hit 132-135 on the speedo. Anything extra is a bonus. About the Rubber Rippers speed claims, can Nitro or Ritwick confirm if these speeds were hit in a tunnel (katraj maybe!). I've hit 127 with full saddlebags/tankbag without crouching in that tunnel.
PS: Pune 220's are best btw, they have the least probs, give the most mileage, and have the best performace.

@Revlimiter Cut-offs: When posting the figures, please indicate which bike (Fi/Dts-i) and if its Fi if its black/white tacho.
Regarding cutoffs for the black back tacho, where is Pranay when you need him !

@yuv: Depriciation a lot depends on the kms on the odo. When my bike was 30K old I just casually asked at the Chennai PBK how much they would offer, I was shocked to hear 45K . For the best possible value you need to get a individual buyer.

@All: My bike 'officially' hit 40K on the odo last tuesday.Unoffcially its 600kms more.

Its a different story that now the odo stands at 41.1K
please put pics on adjusting headlight beam.
it will be very helpful.
i need it asap.

Yes , many of us have crossed 141 mark on our speedos , though on different roads with little downslope... And me and my friend Arzin's bike managed to touch 140 in katraj's tunnel ... Arzin's top is 144 on Fi...

About Pune's bikes being best , we visit probiking atleast 1ce in a week

congrats uncle (ur bike)
40k kms.. i have been changing bikes at 25k.. this is my third bike.. hope to keep it till i finish my studies and get a job..

now, coming back to the discussion.. u are saying that u did a 127 with saddle bags, tank bags and without crouching.. thats a lot of weight there.. i think u would weigh around 80-90 kgs.. in my case, i weigh just 65 kgs and my figures were clocked with fully crouched position, looking through the bike's visor. what iam trying to say is altitude also matters right? even i feel pune's 220's are of better quality.. i think one of pune's 220 came to me by mistake.. anyways, if there is so much of speedo error it should be noticed in top end also.. my bike goes till 135 and then takes a lot of time to go till 137.. it doesnt clock 140+ or even 137+.. we (me and sarvajit) hit those figures on a downslope.. that day i was all the time ahead of sarvajit..
also, when my bike was new, i had done a laser gun speed check on an indian airforce runway.. speedo indicated was 137 and the laser gun showed 134.9. that time i had little tailwind for my support..
once again iam not saying i dont have any speedo error.. iam trying to make this a healthy discussion..
if iam not wrong, bangalore is on higher altitude.. that should make some difference (maybe marginal)..

prabhakar's bike also used to do 137 with ease when it was stock.. it has black back speedo.. now it is not stock.. so cant compare figures with his..

Weight plays no significance in topspeed achieved. A bike will attain its topspeed irrespective of rider weight, only the time taken for it to achieve that will vary.

Altitude also should not have an effect as long as the bike is tuned properly.

Btw, im kindda lost why are we having this discussion?

Around 10350 rpm. (this is normal case, sometimes, the 220 goes a bit crazy and overboard and it over revs, watch out for that )
