  • Mud guard attachment...

2nd free service done ..!! .after so much of pestering and arguing , socializing and stuff, finally service carried out well...bike feels and runs silk smooth.. hope to get this kinda service always... i kno this topic has already been discussed... we have to come up with a good solution for this problem.... im sure many are facing it... too much of water splashing onto my feet while wading thru wet roads... can a wider yet flexible flap be accommodated onto the front mud guard? its gonna look odd on the bike, but i cant afford to get dirty along the way...

      5k rpm- 73-74kmph
      6k rpm- 88-89kmph
      88 @ 6K RPM...

Either ur bike is running on taller gearing or ur speedo is showing +5kmph...

83 @ 6K RPM is what is achieved in all other 220's that I have seen...

The Iridiums last for about 3 times the stock. If you've been ripping most of the time get them changed by about 27K, else if you've been having a mixed riding pattern you can use them till about 30K.

when enquired here with Mr. Francis Varghese, the service engineer, he said that the meters with white background tachometer are more error free. Itseems the black background ones show less speed, according to him. so they were upgraded.
one thing is for sure, the best mechanic here says that my bike is quite different from others. i'll recheck these figures while running parallely with a black tacho 220fi, white tacho 220fi and a 220dtsi

Well the black back 220's have been tested against the speedgun/gps/vbox by various magazines and all have 'claimed' that it had an approx 2% speedo error.

So if the white back is showing more speed its natural to conclude that its got more speedo error. With all due respect to Mr. Francis, but I think he's talking out of his ass when he's making statements like that.

PS: You're post mentions tachometer, are you talking about the speedo or tacho

            lol..
when we are talking about the difference in meters, i suppose the color we are referring to is the background of the tachometer.
iam talking about speedo taking tacho into consideration, as the speedo neither has a black/white background!

That is definitely the first DTS-Fi I have heard that shows more speed while going parallel with a R15.
