I have talked to Smartride regarding this and am planning to get it fitted soon. what's ur device's brand?

Good to hear bout the positive review.

    • Oil indicator blinking....

I have a peculiar problem with my P220, not sure any one has been facing this...

The oil (temp sensor - top right corner of the top indicator panel) indicator, starts blinking, and only way to get it stopped is to restart the digital console. last week I showed this to the Service guys, and they replaced the sensor located at the bottom of the engine (oil temp sensor - is the part name).

While the indicator starts blinking, I found the engine to be a little harsh(not too much though ), and everything is getting alright, if I turn off the bike, and restart it after some 5-10 min. btw, I am running on Motul 300v 15w50 for the last 500kms...

My main concern is that, I am not sure if the oil level is getting low or oil temperature is getting high, or some other problem with the engine...

Plz help me resolve this issue...

yes, I am doing this every morning, and there is no leakage of oil anywhere...

I am just looking if any other Motul users are facing the same issue...

Morning before you start your bike check your engine oil level.

Also, is the indicator light coming on even after you replaced the sensor?

Im sure this is just a small nakhra of the P220, nothing serious!

Idle run is fine, I keep the bike for 2-3 minutes running idle every morning, everything seem to be fine, except if I accelerate in neutral, it won't go past 5K rpm. after starting on the road, it just runs normally.

Engine oil level is fine, as I check it every morning...

Yes the indicator is coming up, even after changing the sensor, it starts after some 2-3kms ride, and keeps blinking until I restart

if its just a nakhra, I don't bother much, but everytime, I had to check the oil level, stopping the bike... I am sure something happens bad , only the day when I did not look at it (from my past experiences ).

Usually for me the low engine oil indicator comes on when I've been riding through a lot of water logged roads. The prob that was happening is that, dirt was accumulating at the sensor (located at the bottom end of the crankcase) that was causing the sensor to falsely trigger.

Possibly could be a similar issue!

But if you can visually see through the window that oil is present in the crank case then rest assured this is just an issue with your sensor!

I don't think dirt is causing the issue, as I got the sensor replaced last week only, and I had only 120kms after the change. Yesterday also, got the same issue, after riding around 2kms from my house, on bannerghatta road, the road was clean, and no water splashes on the bike.

Oil level is fine, there is no other issue, except the little harshness of the engine(not too much), and when I restart the bike, the bike runs even smoother than before.

Which service centre did you get this done? And did they show you the old sensor?

Auto Service, Mari and Mahesh were looking into this, the old sensor was too blackish, and nothing peculiar to be observed, anyhow I am planning to get this issue rechecked sometime this week...

                            • ^^^ bro, am not sure, since how long u have been using ur ride, personally for me it will be 2 yrs in a few days yipeeee.... and one thing i have learned about my 220 is to just ignore such small issues and sooner or later they will go away.During the initial days even i used to bother a lot bout small issues and lost on all the riding fun. So my 2 cent - ignore , and enjoy the torque...
