+1. Totally agree. Maybe it was sporty before, but after the R15 and the RTR came, this is far more relaxed than those comparatively.Originally posted by payeng View PostEven the riding position on the P220 is somewhere in between "Sporty" and "Relaxed".
All I have ever done on my P220 is commuting and touring.
No idea, Manoj. That's what they said when I called them up yesterday at Khivraj. You should speak the to spares section manager about the variation.Originally posted by M@n()J View PostHere the fairing + bracket costs somewhere around 2.8 k......How is the variation in the prices of spares??
+1. I hope that they learn from the current crop.Originally posted by augusta View Post^The black theme and the new exhaust has been speculated by everyone around.Lets hope they pull in more reliability for a complete package.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe

fairing costs around Rs 1700 in Delhi. Should not be much of variations considering the fact that Taxes are kind of same every where"HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

Guys got a set of issues with my bike after I rode back from Chennai!
1. Vibes all over the bike have increased, for the first time the vibes left a tizzy feeling in my palms after the ride. Any other things to look out for, other than crankshaft balancing?
2. CO has been set to 2.5, yet the bike vibes and pulls a bit slower. Also the engine is definitely screaming a lot more than normal. Any pointers?
3. Front brakes lack the bite now, takes a really long time to slow down. Pads are about 10K kms old, and were cleaned in the last service 1.5K kms back. For my riding pads usually last about 20K. So I guess its not an issue with the pads!
4. Chain even after lubing and slack adjustment is making a khrr khrrr sound, and chain sprocket still have only used up about 60% of their life. Weird, but its happening!!
Overall its nothing major, just that NVH levels have taken a toss and gone over the ceiling.
PS: I'm posting about a prob with my bike after a really long time!

Replace the pads and check. They don't cost more than Rs 150. Your disc is not new and hence the pads won't last that long. Also, when was the last time u changed the brake fluid?Front brakes lack the bite now, takes a really long time to slow down. Check engine mounts and swingarm axle bolt. There are a lot of rubber dampers on a 220 that isolate and reduce vibes from transmitting to the rider interface points like handlebars, seats and footpegs. Check those.

Suspected clutch wear !?!? check for acceleration "in gear" runs with en eye on RPM (you are a seasoned techie...should be able to decipher that)

Check the disc itself...is it worn out? maybe after your recent track use the pads have a lot of glaze on them and may need a scrub to be effective...

This can be due to incorrect wheel alignment...the chain might not be running true on its path and hence the increased noise. There have been reports that the 220 looses alignment after hitting a ditch at high speeds...

I feel that your bike needs some nut and bolt tightening session and a thorough check up on dampers.
I also have this feeling that maybe...just maybe...you are using a different fuel...are you?
I asked this cause I used to get the same NVH complaints from my 150 if I changed from my regular Speed to Power...again it might be my perception; but then, it could be generic
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Before I replace the pads I want to zero in that the issue is because of the pads alone and nothing else. Brake fluid was changed 1.5K kms back.Originally posted by HydBiker View PostReplace the pads and check. They don't cost more than Rs 150. But you're right about the pads not lasting long with an old disc, I din't realize that!
Surprisingly my bike doesnt complain too much even on the worse kindda fuel. Currently running Shell Normal, which I had tanked up in Chennai!Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostCheck engine mounts and swingarm axle bolt. I think I'll have to ask them to forcibly do that now. Will get the swingarm axle bolt checked too.

I too suspect the clutch here, the plates are 10K kms old. Previous set lasted 20K. Funny part is there is no clutch slippage i.e. bike is still doing the same speeds at specific RPMS.
No seasoned techie here sirjee, I'm a noob to biking. Had this bike for little over a year now and this is my first bike, so still learning a lot at every step.

Well for a change the bike is giving good mileage, which is good thing in these times of recession.

Ill get it checked too coz im getting the same sound. Btw is there any way to check the extent of wear and tear of the chain set?4. Not yet filled up fuel, been commuting to office to-from also....Done about 480kms on that tankful. The red light is yet to come on!Originally posted by Samyaza View PostDid you fill up after that?

You checkout the rear axle bolt's position on the swingarm. Once the bolt has moved to the last position i.e. the chain is of max length. Its time to change ur chain sprocket set!_________________________

Damn..i had to fill up before touching Hosur. Bike's mileage has gone for a toss and it isn't pulling as wellOriginally posted by prafultripathy View PostNot yet filled up fuel, been commuting to office to-from also....Done about 480kms on that tankful. The red light is yet to come on!

Any possible reasons for it? I'll be giving my bike for 3rd free servicing.

Maybe your wheels are not be rotating freely. Check both the wheels if they are rotating freely.Originally posted by Samyaza View PostDamn..i had to fill up before touching Hosur. Bike's mileage has gone for a toss and it isn't pulling as well

On last week's ride to of ~450 kms to Belur and back, before we started, I filled Super Shell, set to zero. There was
60% riding at 65-70 kmph
40% riding at 110+ kmph
When I refueled tank ful on monday at the IOC bunk at Sarjarpur Road:
Fuel filled: 12.3
Odo reading: 521.xx km
Mileage: A healthy 42.2x ! Will try the tank ful of X-tra premium, otherwise travel to the nearest Shell to get a tank ful of Shell Super. Amazing mileage guys!
EDIT: If you guys haven't already checked it out already, here's hot news for today..

Get ur wheel rotation checked as Pranay mentioned and also your CO setting.
Did you tankup at Chennai before leaving? Or did you fill for 500/- or some denomination like that?
Hats off to you dude!Originally posted by pranay View Post
