But then he explained : he took a metal plate and at one side put some 2,3 drops of motul and other side the oil which comes at SC, then he kept the plate in inclined position for some time, to my surprise motul dripped off farily easily/quicky but the SC oil stayed for much longer since its far thicker than motul.
      Servicing for 2 days..

      Kya kiya bhai aisa....
and now coming to the Motul thingy, its really shocking that Motul isnt that efficient for wet clutch plates.....

But one question though what is this SC oil .. ??

It hasn't yet been proved what Chilled's Mech is saying is right, so lets not jump to any conclusions.

SC Oil is usually mineral Castrol/Servo/Veedol/Mak/Motul

            • need lighting solutions!!!

guys !! iam thinking of replacing my current headlamps with osram nightbreaker H7 or philips xtreme power H7. i have a few queries

              1) Are these direct fits?

              2) do i need to do any modification to the electrical setup ?

              3) will these bulbs produce more heat than the OEM supplied halogen ones?

              4) how's the performance of these bulbs compared to OEM bulbs in terms of brightness ?

              5) will these cause excessive drain on my bike's battery?

Phew !!! that's a long list of question but hope you guys may have the answers. i dont want to go HID because the place where i live doesnt have any good mechanic to do the installation of HID. iam only looking at the fit into the socket and forget kind of bulbs now. the reason why iwant to change is because i feel the low beam of the bike has limited lateral spread and i need a bulb with more lateral spread and brightness.

If its a H7 then Yes!

                2) do i need to do any modification to the electrical setup ?
If its H7 55W, then no modifications required.

                3) will these bulbs produce more heat than the OEM supplied halogen ones?
If its 55W then, no. Heat produced will be the same.

                4) how's the performance of these bulbs compared to OEM bulbs in terms of brightness ?
From what I've heard, the brightness is a lot better.

                5) will these cause excessive drain on my bike's battery?
                If its 55W, then No!
Btw, you mentioned about lateral spread, please note that chaging your bulb will not result in increase in light spread. The spread of light depends on your reflector/lens setup. What will increase is the brightness of area that was illuminated by the OEM lights.

                • Rumor Or Confirmed? New P220 Coming?

Hey guys : I read in P220 Orkut community that new P220 Fi With black engine alloys and with some more mods like 6th gear is coming on 22nd november 2008.

Is it a confirmed news or rumour?

As What I have heard is only upcoming ninja 250r and ktm duke , and platina 125cc from overdrive , but nothing about P220 Fi new version. But the guy in orkut says he have contacted the bike showroom of bajaj auto pvt ltd.

                  orkut -

Well can anyone confirm the news or its just another rumour??

                  Thanks-
                  Razor...

                  • hello everyone...

Well... Replying to this thread after a long long time... Will post pics of my Lavasa trip soon... 2 P220s.. 3 guys.. and lots of good roads... twists and turns... lots of cornering... and ofcourse the nature... We had a blast. Even though I did this trip back in October. But couldnt manage time to post them. Have been busy for quite while now.

Since then I have been to lavasa thrice... just love the place.

now coming to some observation I have made in past one month in Mumbai - Pune - Delhi.

R15 is seen more in comparision to P220. P220 remains more exclusive and people stare the bike... Thanks to the bigger P220 and smaller R15.

What has gone wrong with P220. THE PROBIKING CONCEPT itself.

If you guys notice.. R15 is available at showrooms next door. So its more accessible. People have the moolah. Make some downpayment and get the rest financed. and vroom on R15. Everybody is aware.

And with PROBIKING.. there are at max 2 showrooms per city. Now thats the problem. People who are not aware about the concept dont go and buy the bike.. coz the showrooms are not next door. thats killing 220 sales.

I personally hate R15 (its strictly by choice.. no intentions to start a war).. And I just love riding my P220. Far better feel you get riding a P220.

I have my P220 in Pune... and P150 classic in delhi. So this time round when went back to my hometown deelhi... took out my P150... which is now 5yrs and 10months old. After riding P220 for more than 2500 kms... I was feeeling not confident at all while riding P150. the gap of 5 years (150 & 220) has worked and P220 is far more confident and stable. It actually took me 3-4 days to become more confident on 150.

My 220 is doing good. Time for 2nd service. Intend to put 5100 motul. But its not availabe easily. Bike is very smooth at times and smooth sometimes. Battery seems to has gone low on charge.. as it was off for more than 2.5 weeks.

Another day I was out for a ride on my 220 after i came back from delhi. I was on Mumbai - Bangalore highway. And there was an Innova trying to overtake again and again. i just whipped the throttle and the bike chewed away the innova by huge margin. Dont know if the innova driver used full potential of the car.

P220 is not like.. R15... where you need to launch the bike... 6000-7000RPM. Just whip the trottle and vroom. just eagerly want to beat any R15 with my P220. Lets see whether my P220 tastes dust or the R15.

                    • About the handling part, ride a R15 for close to 10-15 kms and get back to the 220, you will have the exact feelings that you had when you rode you classic after a gap.

Lets not talk about drawing comparisons when it comes to handling, coz simply there is no way that a 220 can do what a R15 can do in the handling department.

Regarding the powerband of the R15, well you can't just make the R15 eat your dust, coz in the hands of good rider the R15 will match up with the 220.

But being low down on cc/torque incase you drop throttle on the R15, you will not get power back as quickly you do on the 220.

And regarding the Innova, the Innova guy din't go all guns...trust me on this! I've had Innovas whooshing by me when I was doing close to 125 on the speedo.

Dude , no offence but is thr a sense to this street race ??
Almost everyday i meet some or the other guy whos riding either a R15, 180, 200 or even as it happened today a CBZ who wants to beat the crap outa 220 , some are more persistent than others and sometimes end up in a mess .... So i dont even try to compete ...
We nowadays are reading bout bike accidents almost everyday , A Comet , a pulsar on palm beach road list goes on..., am not saying all are because of same reason but seriously wats the point in street raicing ?
All am saying is if someone finds me(blue 220 with yellow Helmet) on a highway cruising ... and they feel the urge having a race just call/PM me and we can meet ona weekend on some empty stretch of read with good riding gear and have some drags.
But plz plz plz just spare me the horror or racing on highways !

...or perhaps, we can ride together even! Race, drags, et al is atleast not my cup of tea anyways. I would prefer to ride together than to try and outweigh each other, anyday!

@Inflammable: Regarding you widening the gap between you and the Innova, you must be thankful to the driver of the Innova, because trust me, he can beat the crap out of a moped like the 220 anytime..

Anyways, that is not the point I wanted to make. The point is, although I have not ridden the R15 (or for that matter the P-220) extensively, but I am pretty sure that the handling of the Yamaha would be far better than the P-220, under every circumstance imaginable.

P.S: Let's not make it a brand war now! Instead, let's keep it to a healthy discussion..
                          :)
