MG,
Thanks for sharing those important infos. I bought the bike on 19th Sep, so guess, no need for me to go to PBK.
So Guys,
My bike has completed 1800 kms, not taking him beyond 64 kph, 4200 rpm, but sometimes I feel that its not accelerating enough within the said range. Is it just a feeling or any issue??
Keep Roking & Biking!

The FZ-16 is not out yet in most cities. It will be a while when the rear tyre will be available in the market separately. So about being a perfect fit, I don't think anyone will know about it.Originally posted by flyingabhi View Posti have to get the rear tire changed. i'm considering the rear tire of yamaha FZ16. does any one has any idea if its available and if it fits perfectly?
The FZ-16 tyres have a more lower profile. It has a 140/60 whereas the pulsar stock are 120/80. These tyres were made with FZ 16 in mind. It is untested with 220's dynamics and behaviors. I highly discourage you to put these. Maybe if you find someone who has put it, and the response is reliably positive, then you could go for it.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe

1st minor accident (hope last one too) on my 220
Hello guys,
So while returning home with my frend who bought a new FZ16 yestdy only, I didnt see a pile of loose gravel in the middle of the road (ass****e MCD, PWD) as i just exited a turn. Straight in to it. Was at a slow speed 30 - 35, applied brake & lost control. Was shattered, 1st thot abt bike "SHIT! MY BIKE" didnt care to c wot happnd to me, was more worrd for my bike . Got some scratches on right side panel, crash gaurd got bent. Hugged him & said sorry multiple times. Now the major problem started then after. Bike wont go beyond 3k rpm. Difficulty in taking it beyond 30 kph , very difficult to climb the over bridges. Then called up MG Bhai (thanks a ton MG sir
). So he said that there is some roll over sensor in bike which hav got activated. Took my bike today morning to Okhla PBK Serv Centre. Rectified it. So bike is again rapchik now
. Any suggestion for those scratches??
fyi - got to knw from the PBK guys 7 confirmed by MG bhai today & tomorrow prob, Bajaj Hot Shots will be present in Kirti Nagar PBK Serv Centre."HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

Hello guys!!
Been a long time i contributed something... still cant beleive what happened to xbhp actually happened
Anyways... doesn't feel like that anymore... coz xbhp is back and so are xbhpians! Just feel sad for the tons & tons of valuable information that got lost in between... coz this very threadhad made me choose the p220 over any other bike almost a year back!
Coming back to the p220... its gonna be a year old on the 27th of this month... lovely feeling..
odo reading is nearing 5800 kms... i know its very less compared to others, but that is all i get to use it.. and all these many kms have been trouble free for me atleast! Really love my bike! Its been on Motul 300v since past 1000 kms and its been wonderfully smooth since then, however the occasional harshness does creep in sometimes, the reason for which is best known to the bike itself! lol
Currently, i am facing some minor niggles with the bike... like
1. Fuel meter was precise earlier, (somewhat) from past couple of months, its acting wierd... shows half tank on full tank, and such errornous readings... wonder what wrong with it suddenly!
2. Vibes... the irritating sound from the fairing... the trrrrrrrrrrr sound... its there everytime... and exactly between 2700-3300 rpm.. very irritating... all screws tightened, yet no cure. trust me, its very irritating
3. Vibes past 6k rpm... they suck.. and give a feel somethings gonna fall apart.
4. The unwelcome harshness at times... otherwise, the bike is butter smooth.. this kinda confuses me... if it has to be smooth, then why occasionally harsh too? Answers welcome!
Apart from these, love each and everything about the bike... been a year, but still cant stop drooling over it! each time it ride, seems like falling in love all over again!!!
Glad that xBHP is back... and glad to be back on xBHP!!! :D

^^^ welcome back !
for fairin vibes just put an eraser in between the fairin and the frame just in front of handle bar.tat solved the problem on ma ride.
for vibes at 6k to 7k try adjusting the CO , this is tricky cause even after adjusting the CO , crapy petrol gives more issues. So i have started using Thermol, its an additive to petrol and does provide noticable diff.
Also for vibes keep the chain lubricated all the time .Aprilia RS 125 or Honda CB400 Vtec ..... which one will it be ??? I think its gonna be NINJA ZX 6R :-)

The FZ16 has a fatter 140 section tyre against the 120 section of the P220.. also since the aspect ratio of the FZ tyre is 60 against the 80 of the P220 tyre, the top speed would come down by at least 5-7 kms...
the mileage might also come down.. the handling might also suffer. the only benefit I see is in the looks.

FZ-16 rear tire: 140/60-17 (source:Yamaha website) with the units in mm. 140mm being the width horizontally and 60 being aspect ratio. The aspect ratio being Tire Height/Tyre Width. In this case, with aspect ratio of 60, the tyre height would be 140 * 0.6=84 mm. You could refer to this informative website.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View Posthow are you calcualting the profile of the tyre , 60 and 80 as in the specs ?
P220 rear tire: 120/80-17 the same as above applied here too. 96mm is the tire height.Last edited by pranay; 10-17-2008, 01:24 PM.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe
