Not satisfied with the bike at all...still i would say the bike is nice but Bajaj could have done a better job by making the entire bike more reliable as most of it is an experiment with people like me

I have still not figured out why Delhi bikes give so much problems??

@burnrubbernotursoul: Thanks for the tips. Will try the chain clearance thing asap.

Regarding the Tyres: The Zapper Vyde would be a straight fit (same spec tyre ) but the Michelin Sirac (although a very good all purpose tyre) probably doesn't come in tubeless form. Also it has got a 90 profile (the Zappers on the P220 comes as a 80 Profile tyre).. so there is a slight drop in initial acceleration/pick up also also a slight (4-5 kms) increase in top speed.

Sandeep Bagchi is currently using the Sirac on his P220 and the above observation was made by him.
      Thanks Payeng Bhai!
I too remember Sandeep telling me about downsides about the tyre, but slightly taller gear ratio will definitely benefit in long distance touring.

      Howz ur bike doing?

Tuning boss, its all about getting the perfect tuning outta ur bike. Get your airscrew+CO setting done. Also get your chain cleaned and lubed. Plus don't go too much topspeed see the difference in accleration. Top speed has external factors affecting it too, like ambient air temperature, wind speed, road slope, etc.....

        • Don't forget its CO+airscrew. If you bike has completed 10K kms, get the throttle body cleaned, Sparkplugs changed if you are using stock Champion plugs.

Well I've moved to Bangy and no access to xBhp from work...and no comp at home too so almost off xBhp! But now I'm home for a few days...so back to old days!

            • Like in a carb'ed bike there is screw for fuel and air, similarly we also have a screw for tuning the air. This is more important when you change ur riding climate or go upto the hills!

For the moment i'm have a blackout about the exact location, need to see a 220 to tell you! Can some please remind silly me where the air screw is!!!

                      • 1'ST Anniversary..!!

My P220 has completed one year with me..!!

It was 10'th Oct 2007 when I took delivery of my Shinning Red P220 from Khivraj Motors Bangalore..

Today exactly after 1 year (10'th Oct 2008).. is our First Anniversary Together..!!

                        The Experience so far:

                        Kms Clocked: 13,500
Services Done: 5 Free and 1 Paid Service
Longest Journey: 2500 kms (approx) in 6 days (covered by my brother when he rode it from Bangalore to Gurgaon)
                        Fuel Efficiency: 38-42 Kmpl

There has been a few parts which were replaced but all of them have been covered under warranty..

I just love the Torque of the bike which seems to be present right down from "0 (Zero)" RPM.. all that it required is just a slight twist of the right wrist.

The bike remains very smooth till 6000 RPM at which it does around 80-83 Kmph, vibes slowly start to make an appearance after that.. the engine remains quite strong till 120-122 Kmph (120 Kmph on a Pulsar means its an Honest 120 Kmph without much speedo error).. at which point I usually run out of roads and guts.

Braking is excellent.. especially the front brakes. Initially I found the rear discs to lack in bite but now I have got used to it and find it adequate. The Rear View Mirrors are the ones which I would like to replace with ones which might provide a better view of the rear.

After spending 1 year together, I can say with conviction that our (me and My P220) Relationship has become only stronger.. Today on the first anniversary, I wish for many more Kms of togetherness..!!

                          • heartiest congratulations payeng bro.... feels good doesn't it I can imagine... I completed 6 months with 6.1K on odo, havent yet got the right tunning for my bike yet but its still a sweet sensation when that FI hums and a spiritual awakening when the bike starts...

btw chetan yaar tell me abt a good service centre in MUMBAI or NAVI MUMBAI for my bike's CO tunning... the Andheri SAI SERVICE's emmission checking machine has gone for a toss.. so I really dont know how LEAN or RICH im running .... and I need to get this fixed soon coz bike's engine goes dead whenever I leave the throttle while riding, also at high speeds I feel as if the bike's front tyre is wobbling or maybe swaying from left to right I dont know maybe this is what i feel but sometimes that wobbling is there sometimes it isnt.

Anyone else had this balancing issue before or am I the only blessed one.

                                Lol.... nice washing work there....

You can get the CO setting done at Turbhe SK Bajaj Probikin.... you can callup Mr. Gopal (the Supervisor there) on 9867526738.

The very issue that you are facing regarding handling... the same issue am facing... I need to get the big handle centre nut adjusted... and if that does not work... then I'll probably go for a steering races/cone set change.
