Re: Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi
Finally after years of being on the Sirac, changed over to Ceat. Damn you Michelin, why did you have to stop selling the Sirac here.
Thanks to the RE Himalayan, I get same Sirac size of 120/90-17.
Too early to comment on the grip levels. But have had to move over to a TT tyre after years of running TL!!_________________________

Re: Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi
Took the bike out for a long spin on the roads where it belongs after a really really long time. Did a week long trip with the better half covering 2000 kms all over KA, followed by a weekend out to Ooty for the xBhp ISG2G.
One from the KA trip, Supa backwaters
Lost somewhere in the Nilgiris
I don't remember where I've kept the manual, but I doubt even that has this specified.Originally posted by Sird View PostCould anyone tell me the ratings / watts / power consumption of 220's horn?

Re: Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi
Hey Guys,
Does anyone know how to connect the new HT ignition coil(having two input connectors) in the place of the old HT Ignition Coil(having a 4pin plug). The reason I am asking this Because I cant find the 4pin connector ignition coil anywhere. Or can i use any other bike's coil like KTM's coil(it has 4 pin input)?
P.s. I got this used fi verson 220 recently and the previous owner converted it to a carb.Last edited by Shubham Badhe; 09-13-2016, 08:58 PM.

Re: Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi
You cannot connect the 4pin to a 2 pin coil. Is the new coil for the Dtsi model instead? If the coil specification including the mounts are same on the KTM, you just might be able to reuse it, but I don't think that would be the case. I had a similar (but not electrical) issue when I replaced my fuel pump a few years back, the fuel filter had changed from 2 port to a 3 port design like the Duke, but the Duke still uses a different filter.Originally posted by Shubham Badhe View PostHey Guys,

IIRC (and could be wrong here), the coil setup between the Fi and Carb is different and is one of the things to change when moving over to carb.
If you are still stuck, let me know I will check with my Bajaj mechanic about this._________________________

Re: Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi
I am in a dilemma to either purchase 220 Fi or Avenger Street 220. From what i understand, Pulsar has tubeless tires whereas Avenger has tube tires. That is a big deal breaker for me as the Bajaj showroom does not know when will the tubeless variant be launched.
I wanted some feedback on Pulsar 220 Fi's reliability, spare parts availability and mileage.

You should be asking this in the Pulsar 220 Dtsi thread, the Fi went out of production in 2009Originally posted by rakeshmiglani View PostI wanted some feedback on Pulsar 220 Fi's reliability, spare parts availability and mileage.

Ok. I somehow managed to get a replacement for the coil but it also behaved same as the old one. It would also cut-off after 5K rpm. So the bajaj mechanic over here fiddled with the wiring and got it running till 10K rpm like the other coil. I thought it was the one which was opposing me to cross the 106 km/hr mark but it turns out something else is not correct. I get around 85-86 km/hr at 6K rpm on 5th gear and i also dont have any problem shifting gears or no clutch issues but still these mechanics say that the clutch plates may be gone. I checked everything(front, back tyre bearing disc brakes, 5-6K km new chain sprocket, motul 5100 20w50 oil 1.5k km old). Its like i still have more accelerator to be opened at this speed, like i can feel the sound changing but cant see the speed change.
2)
I have a capacitor near the battery which is gone bad. So i replaced it and my battery drained out within 4-5 mins. The bajaj mechanic told me 'koi jarurat nai hai uska. chalega nai lagaya toh bhi. pehele bhi toh chal hi rahi thi na..'. what should i do?
